"Kai's Way"
By Elaerina Cragsinger
Long ago, and lost tae time;
Brave Palidins o' Kai did raise;
These talismans tae guide our lives;
Tae show us how tae live our days;
Tho' they have gone, their lessons shine;
Bright in granite, stark and cold;
Nae lessons for the faint o' heart;
But only fer the true and bold.
Long hath this bardess noticed;
That Kai's great life and talismans;
Be bound in ways quite often missed;
Despite that Kai hath many fans;
So with this song I hope tae twine;
The talismans' lessons deliberately;
With the tale o' the life o' the strongest and;
The bravest o' all the Arkati.
Strength be what Kai be known fer best;
Strength o' arm and sword and will;
Ur-Daemons put 'im tae the test;
But fell before his fearsome skill;
Kai's great Valor helped turn the tide;
He didna fall, retreat nor hide;
Though Drakes were lost, the war was won;
Kai, brave champion, saw this done.
Now dun ye think he's allus won;
Defeat he's known, though once - nae oft!;
Tae Koar, the King o' all the Gods;
But did this make 'is heart go soft?;
Nae, not our Kai, the lessons learned;
Did let him equal V'Tull's attack;
And his joy o' battle still burns so fierce;
That only Koar kin hold him back.
Each life doth face Despair although;
The talismans say "Nae freeze with woe!";
Do be like Kai when his fair wife;
The Ardenai Leirya lost her life;
Though mourn he did, eventually;
Hope did set his spirit free;
For through this loss was Leya born;
Through pride in her, Kai ceased tae mourn.
He'd learned, ye see, that when hearts break;
Through Faith, the strong, new purpose take;
Tae face the battle now anew;
Unburdened by a life o' rue;
Their resolve, aye, oft honed by tears;
But nae more a victim o' their fears.
Kai's joy in Friendship daily rings;
In his song - that each bard sings;
Bestowing on all who choose tae unite;
Strengths greater than pure lonely might;
Likewise, his talismans do call;
Tae each who read them by their name;
Reminding us, though our bodies fall;
Our marks on friends' hearts long remain.
Honor I have left fer last;
Tae remind ye o' yer duty;
For without the talismans' lessons;
E'en Strength do lose its beauty.
Learn ye well from Defeat and Despair;
Tae temper yer sword and yer words with care.
Valor, should keep yer purpose firm;
Though those with less Faith wail and squirm.
When the path that ye tread seems before ye tae darken;
Hope will shine bright if tae Friends ye do harken.
And Honor will now your Strength and life lead;
If tae these eight talismans ye do pay heed.
