Merchant's Guild - Charter
The Guild of Merchants
Sometimes paladins are required out of their own pocket to help young, old, sick and poor people. A paladin has to acquire his funds in an honest and honorable manner.
Onoir as a house of paladins can function as a group in furthering the cause of good as well as help diminish the “buyer beware” economy in Elanthia by providing goods through auctions and other means for people that need these goods at an honest and fair price to all.
Purpose: The Guild of Merchants are the makers, providers, and sellers of goods and services of the house. These goods and services are provided to everyone in Elanthia at a fair and honest price, and have been acquired in an honorable manner. The Order of Merchants also discourages the “buyer beware” economy of Elanthia in representing such goods in a truthful manner, having used the aid of Loresingers, spells of Magic Detection, Magic crystals like the one found in the Abandoned Inn, and skilled weapons assessors.
Requirements: Any person in Onoir with the sense of economy in Elanthia and the desire to provide goods and services honestly and fairly to all may join this guild.
Restrictions: Any Master may have apprentices or journeyman apprentices for this guild.
Finances: All taxes required by the house of this order are the equal responsibility of the orders membership as a whole. All silvers generated by this guild above the cost of expenses involved in making or acquiring goods and services will be donated to the house coffers.
Duties: This guild is responsible for providing goods and services to the house and the general public of Elanthia. These duties include acknowledging needs from people for these goods and services and providing them in a timely manner as outlined in the goods and services list. Members are required to accept donations to the guild of marketable goods or services. Members may donate goods or services but are not required to. If services and goods are not donated however, they must follow the guidelines as outlined in the Goods and Services list. Members are responsible for organization of auctions, sales, and deliveries. Members are required to do tests on acquired goods to get a true assessment of all items before sale, enlisting the help of Loresingers, spells of Magic Detection, Magic crystals like the one found in the Abandoned Inn, and skilled weapons assessors. Members are required to report all trades, sales, and auctions to the Lord/Lady Tradesmaster or any Master Merchant when final; as well as keep logs of goods and services that they are responsible for. The Tradesmaster and Master Merchant may request reports of auctions and sales from any guild member. Any Masters must report progress of their apprentices to the Tradesmaster.
