Foundations: The first book of Onoir.

Morgiest's memories of the earliest days of Onoir. From the eighth month of 5097, thru the death of its founding Lord Paladin in the fifth month of 5099, concluding with the election of Lord Paladin Drandar, second Lord Paladin of Onoir.

Penned over the month of Jastatos, 5101

I write this some four years after the founding of House Onoir on the 21st day of Jastatos, 5097. The journey from where we began is a long one. Filled with many days of happiness, along with a few days of sorrow.

About two months prior to the actual founding of House Onoir, thirteen of us gathered together. First, allow me to introduce you to them all. Lord Aonghus our founding father, "Baby" always slung over his shoulder, stood tall for a human. He was a former member of the Order of the Silver gryphon's, and a present member of House Phoenix. Lady Elana, his faithful bride ever-present at his side, was a Master healer. Renowned throughout the lands as a kind and gentle soul. She belonged to House Phoenix. Lord Truekillr was there, even then a well known and respected priest. Also one of House Phoenix's members. Lord Thrudh and Lady Zyanna, the eldest warriors of the house, stood side by side. Both members of the Silver Gryphon's, both masters of the warriors guild, the great respect shown them was always apparent. Lord Cynric, the mysterious priest of Voln, and future officer of Phoenix attended frequently during this time. Master Locksmith Rhozevy was want to twirl a lock pick as we gathered. Lord Ravenwulf was quiet and direct as always. Lord Dragonshield, member of Helden Hall, and faithful friend and companion. Lady Ingrid, the leader of Helden Hall at the time. Lady Karissa, a former squire of Aonghus, and a warrior showing great skill and promise. And myself, Lord Morgiest, newly made Guild master of the warrior guild.
At our third meeting, held on 8/21/97, we voted on the first three officers of Onoir. They were Lord Aonghus as first Lord Paladin, Lord Truekillr, as first Lord Seneschal, and Lord Ravenwulf, as first Lord Chamberlain.

On 10/21/97, the formal vote by all present members, was held. The original house bylaws were then voted into being at this very meeting. These were a very basic set of bylaws, the house was a limited autocracy, Lord Aonghus had final say in everything, but could be removed, as could any officer. They stated the House purpose, teaching honor, leading by example, but were left entirely open as to any other house function. I was keeping the house minutes up to this point, and would continue to do so until the creation of the post Lord Scribe. This was the last to be heard of Lord Cynric, until his appearance at a house meeting some two years later, in the company of Lady Aurla.

The first formal house position created after the new bylaws were voted in, was the position of Lord Warlord. This position was created about one month after the bylaws were voted in. At this time, the position of Lord Warlord was second in command of the house. Running meetings in the absence of the Lord paladin, taking all pertinent notes, keeping various information at hand.

Lord Dragonshield, and Lady Ingrid leave Onoir saying Helden Hall requires too much of their time. We wish them well on their travels, and promise strong friendship amongst our two houses.

Lord Paladin Aonghus publishes the first house spidey-web site.

[Timeline, Charlatos, month three of 5098] <12 full members, 1 squires>
Lord Caranorn joined Onoir as a paladin in the third month of 4998. A former squire of Lord Aonghus, he was welcomed as our first new recruit. Arderon, my own faithful squire for the next year and a half, also joined this same month. Lady Taamlyn also joined as a full member this month. Lord Khazaan, a member of the Silver Gryphon's, master of the warrior guild, member of Phoenix, follower of Kai, joined in this month.

Two months later, the position of head squire was created. Arderon, being named to the post. Lord Johagn, a faithful servant of Kai, joined Onoir as a full member at this time. Lord Drandar, faithful servant of Ronan, future lord Paladin of Onoir, joined us as a full member. Leviat was accepted as a squire by Lord Ravenwulf, and Kerschiwitz became the second squire of myself.

The following month, the sixth of 5098, Lord Bonespirit, locksmith, and dedicated follower of Voln, joined us as a full member. Durath was squired to Lord Khazaan, and Gormin joined Onoir as the squire to Lord Drandar. Lord Durpin, future Lord Scribe of the house, and first house wizard, joins as a full member. Lord Thrudh, and Lady Zyanna announce that due to lack of time, they must resign from Onoir. We are all deeply saddened by this loss.

Lady Matti, legendary healer of Lorminstra, joins House Onoir as a full member. Algorian was accepted as squire of Ravenwulf.

Lady Aurla, second house wizard joins as a full house member. Lady Lanthalasara joined as a full member, the first sorcerer of Onoir. Lady Cassundera, future Lady Scribe of Onoir. was accepted as squire under Lord Rhozevy. Brianus, future Lord Warlord of Onoir, was accepted as a squire by Lord Anoghus. Broso is accepted as squire of Lord Drandar. The first house auction is held, presided over by Lord Bonespirit.

Lord Graeval, third wizard to join our ranks, is accepted as a full member. Lord Quonan is accepted as the squire of Aurla. Kerschiwitz is raised from squire to full member status.

Lord Tebon, future third Lord paladin of Onoir, is accepted as squire to Lord Aonghus. Lord Akono is accepted as squire to Lord Truekillr. Garthalameu, first Lord Tyler of Onoir is accepted as squire to Lord Caranorn. Squire Durath is promoted to full member. Lord Bonespirit is last seen stepping thru the Voln Tapestry into Darkstone Castle. He is never seen or heard from again.

Lord Seneschal Truekillr is the object of the first trial of Onoir. He is charged with murder, and is found innocent. It appears he was the object of a possession.

Leviat is voted in as a full member. The position of Lord Scribe is created. Lord Durpin is named first Lord Scribe of Onoir, and takes over the duty of writing the meeting minutes. Lord Quonan is promote to Full member status.

[Timeline, Lormesta, month one of 5099] <21 full members, 9 squires>
The Betrayal at Voln occurs. Lady Titannia, in league with Lord Blades, Lord Setzier, and other folks of low moral value, assault the temple of Voln, and the Grandmaster himself. Lord Morgiest, Lord Aonghus, Lord Brianus, and Lord Khazaan all come to the defense of Voln in the name of Onoir.

Elaerina, future head squire of the house, master musician, future leader of the Guild of the Quill, is squired to Morgiest. Broso, squire to Lord Drandar, ventures into Anwyn Castle after hearing reports of a ghost, he never returns. Lords Johagn and Durath take to the sea on a trip to Teras. Thier boat is reported sunk, and they is not seen or heard from again. There are reports of sightings of them off and on in the area of Solhaven, but nothing can be confirmed. The Lady Taamlyn leaves for parts unknown.

Cassundera, Algorian, and Brianus are voted in as full members. Lord Truekillr locates the planned building site of Onoir outside the newly discovered town of Solhaven.

[Timeline, Olaesta, month four of 5099] <19 full members, 6 squires>
Lord Kerschiwitz, with a statement that he goes in search of Baron Hochstib, travels south from the port city of Vornavis by boat. He has not been seen in years. Lord Durath, stating the health of his beloved father, retires to take up residence at his fathers home, and look after his ancestral lands.

A sad day for Onoir. Lord paladin Aonghus dies in his sleep. Lady Elana begins a downward spiral of despair, ending in her leaving herself in another two months. Lord Morgiest takes temporary leadership of Onoir, until such time as a one week mourning period is over. In despair, Lord Durpin leaves Onoir, and is never seen again after the service held by Lord Drandar in Aonghus memory. Lord Tebon is made a full paladin two days after Aonghus funeral, Aonghus' daughter Lady Tanri passed along his sword "Baby" shortly thereafter. Lady Karissa leaves to visit the human realms and is never seen again.

Lord Paladin Drandar is voted in as the second Lord Paladin of Onoir. All present full members swear allegiance to the second Lord Paladin, Drandar, and Onoir. Lord Tebon is voted in as second Lord Scribe of Onoir. Lord Akono is made the first full member Ranger in Onoir. Lord Algorian reitres from adventuring. Lanthalasara retires from Onoir.


And here ends my first book of Onoir. It has carried us thru the reign of Lord Paladin Aonghus, founding Lord Paladin of Onoir.
