Morgainna te’Cygnini

Morgainna te’Cygnini
My first memory is being in a dream, or so I thought. I lived on an isle, far to the West, at the unknown edge of the world. I was young there. I lived with the Wise Woman of the village, she took me in when I was left a mere toddler, alone and naked. Her name was Soifra. She was the only family I ever had. She shared her dwelling with me. Day by day she instilled in me the desire to be of service to all. She would say “Without service and honor, your life is wasted”.

As I grew I began to understand that as a Half-elf, I would be shunned. So after Soifra spent her days to her peaceful end; I knew I must find a path all my very own. As night fell on that day of my great sadness, I knelt and prayed to the Goddess to show me what to do. I heard the sweetest voice I had even heard. The Voice urged me to sleep and spoke “ All will be as it should be…sleep and when you awake you will begin your journey”. It seemed that I floated forever in the twilight sleep.

When I awoke from my dreams, I was standing in a strange Courtyard. I had never seen the place before so I rang the bell and waited. As I waited for someone, anyone to come, an old man came rushing toward me. He seemed so frightened. He hid in the bushes. No sooner than the blink of an eye, an angry mob filled the courtyard. They appeared filled with anger and rage. One of the leaders, asked if I knew which way the man was heading… I shook my head no. They left the courtyard as quickly as they had come.

After a few minutes, the old man came out of hiding …he spoke some strange words I didn’t understand. He whispered in my mind and gave me a knife for helping him. The knife was serpent shaped with an emerald eye. I took this to be a good omen.

Then without warning, Lady Gweniveer came and stated she was a mentor and would answer my questions. I had so many I didn’t know where to begin. She asked what did I desire as my profession and I told her to be of service and heal the injured. She laughed softly and told me to stay put. I thought it quite strange but when she came back she had a purple sack with some clothes in it. She took me to the Town Square and told me where the giant rats were and how to kill them with my knife… she also taught me how to use my first spell to heal or to harm.

My days passed swiftly, I would sit and listen to others in the Town Square. I discovered maps, the most obnoxious creatures called kobolds. I found I could do quests for the Adventurer’s Guild and gain experience.

One evening, as I stood bewildered at the local pawnshop, the most lovely and gracious Lady came in. Lady Whyssper. She looked me up and down , asked my name, my profession and before I could blink, she gathered me up and whisked me into a Sanctuary. She gave me my first rune staff, my clothes, jewelry and came with me to hunt. She took me to Voln and told me what Voln was. She introduced me to other empaths . She was not only generous, but of the highest character. She is truly a noble lady.

I had at this point in my journey, joined Voln, and was training hard to become a good empathy. One evening late, as I was in the Courtyard at Voln and poof two personages appeared. One was Goldstr and the other a huge giant of a man. The giant was dead and hurt so severely that I thought he was like a puzzle to be put back together. I offered to help but told them I was a young empath and it would take me some time to heal all his wounds. They were so kind and didn’t rush me… I worked for several minutes until he was whole and in one piece even tough still dead. As I waited, for my healing to take hold, Sir Goldstr told me of this wonderful House. A House where Honor, Duty, Loyalty and service is its purpose. Goldstr ask me to come to a House meeting. I was intrigued . I came to the meeting and ask if I might join. The Great Lady Roelaren stated she would become my mentor . She is more than a mentor, she has become a dear sister of choice. I eagerly agreed to become her Squire. The once orphan now has a family!

So as I continue on my journey, I promise to only bring Honor to House Daingneach Onoir. I thank the Goddess for giving me so many wonderful people to have as examples of chivalry.

I have vowed I will not use my surname until I have become a Lady and full member of Daingneach Onoir.

So for now;
