Guild of the Quill - Charter
Guild of the Quill
Purpose: The Guild of the Quill are the scholars, writers, and historians of the house. They maintain all official writings, and histories of the house. They also perform various functions within the house.
Requirements: Any member may join this Order. Apprentices, and master apprentices are required to submit one "book" to their teacher as their task. This "book" will be one scroll suitable for publishing on the houses website. The subject will be decided by the teacher, and the apprentices teacher will aid their apprentice in any research required. Scholars are expected to provide at least one further book per "year" they are in the house, up to the time when they become master of at least one sub-order, at which time they are exempted from further required publishing. <Inactive time in this case does not count. And the member will be on an "honor" system as to when they must submit a "book".> Nothing says they can't submit more then one of course. <cough>
Restrictions: Any scholar may have apprentices or journeymen apprentices for this order.
Finances: All taxes required by the house of this order are the equal responsibility of the orders membership as a whole. Masters of squires are required to pay all expenses their squires incur in serving this house and guild, up to the time they are promoted to full membership status. Master apprentices who join from within the house are expected to pay their own expenses.
Duties: This order is responsible for keeping a written history of the house. They also provide history readings from their works as asked by other members of the house. Any member of the order of the quill MUST consent to take "notes" of any official meeting they are present at, if they are asked to do so by either an officer of the house, or the leader of this order. It is further this order's duty to acquire the personal history of every member and squire of this house for posting on the house website.
