Azure Hydra Militia of House
Daingneach Onoir

Purpose: To provide basic organized defense of House Daingneach Onoir, and the interest relative to the House, its members, or related House activities, as determined by Lord/Lady Paladin. To provide all necessary training and discipline for its' members to function primarily as a military unit for Onoir. It is to include all professions as to be effective when assembled for battle. This order will provide a rank structure primarily for command, control and training of the militia, and for recognition of the accomplishments of its' members, as determined by Lord/Lady Justiciar.

Responsibility: Militia reports and answers directly to Lord/Lady Warlord .

Membership Requirements:

Anyone who wishes, who does not have a conflict with; the philosophy of House Daingneach Onoir, the Gods of Liabo, or allied houses or orders (i.e. Silver Griffins, The Order of Voln, or The Guardians of the Sunfist...etc)

To have the ability to function well in a mixed combat group. To submit to militia discipline, and rank structure.

Have a pulse.(i.e. no undeads, animates of necromancy, etc)

The Azure Hydra Militia-- Discussion on Rank –Philosophy

“We of the Azure Hydra of House Daingneach Onoir, in order to provide our militia with a structure for order in our formations, trainings and execution of duties, have set aside a series of ranks. These ranks are not so much to distribute power within a group from higher to lower privilege, but as a reminder of a members accomplishments and capabilities. They particularly denote WHO you are responsible TO and WHO you are responsible FOR. In fact, since our ranks are all about responsibility, there is no discernible individual benefit per se, with the exception of the HONOR earned by the DESERVING.
Leadership is not about barking orders or intimidating subordinates. It is the art of example and persuasion. A time honored tradition in the best Orders is that 'the leader leads by example'. An order
is not so much given as a suggestion is made, a volunteer requested, and a culture is developed where
individual initiative and leadership flourishes in a well trained group or team, where everyone knows their duty and performs accordingly.”

Ranks and Rank Requirements: (all ranks require successful completion of prior
rank)

The following rank requirements are used as baseline..and a guideline. Since few two people are exactly a like, a recruits training will be by necessity, tailored to each individual, particularly in regards to spell casters. Final requirements, rankings, and promotions are decided by the Justiciar.

Recruit- Acknowledge Daingneach Onoir. State no conflicts with Onoir philosophy, the Gods of Liabo, or any house or order allied with Onoir. Agree to obey 'honorable' orders from Hydra superiors.

Cadet - Successful completion of Ballista Training at Wehnimers' Landing, demonstrating ability to load and operate ballista. Successful deployment with other Hydra team members during militia maneuvers, or actual combat.

(2nd rank- double chevron merit award pin)

Guard - Successfully rescue an incapacitated or 'dead' subject from hostiles in 'hot zone' (the average hostiles trainings equivalent to member). Proven ability to defeat A WORTHY OPPONENT IN SINGLE COMBAT.

THE FOLLOWING RANKS REQUIRE MEMBERSHIP IN HOUSE DAINGNEACH ONOIR

Vanguard - Minimum induction as squire.
Non combat leadership demonstration (i.e. plan ,organize and implement an event, training class or militia drill with a minimum of 3 in attendance besides candidate.)

Lord/Lady Defender- Minimum full house membership.
Combat leadership demonstration (unit size and opponent requirements to be determined as per candidate)
