Magic Item Creation Talk - 8 29 2024
Moonlight filters through the iridescent panes of six stained-glass windows spaced evenly along the cylindrical walls of this commodious hall. Rows of low wooden benches flank a sturdy podium mounted upon a solid marble dais, facing a mosaic-tiled section of floor that portrays a gallant knight in full battle regalia. Carved wooden lions grasp black and red crosshatched banners overhead, while flickering torches in wall-sconces drive back the shadows from a trio of archways leading to other areas of the castle. You also see a yellow-eyed forest wolfhound, the fiery red Nymmurh disk, an angular fire wyrdling, a small raven, a black and red barrel, a teakwood archway, a carved garden door, some arched wooden double doors and a black onyx staircase.
Also here: Willow Guardian Lehon, Lord Nymmurh, High Lord Bjornsong, Elamien, Great Lord Charwiz, Cosannie
Obvious exits: out
The fire wyrdling chuckles.
Cosannie reaches out and holds Nymmurh's hand.
You smile.
Cosannie reaches out and holds your hand.
You say, "Apologies for my lateness folks - we'll get started in one minute."
Lord Deneri just came through some arched wooden double doors.
The fire wyrdling chuckles.
Cosannie says, "Hello."
Nymmurh grins at you.
The fire wyrdling shimmers with heat, distorting the air about him into wavering refractions.
The raven squawks.
Cosannie offers Elamien a heavy backpack.
Elamien accepts Cosannie's heavy backpack.
You smile at Nymmurh.
You recite:
"Thank you all for attending, and for Daingneach Onoir for supporting this event!"
"Cosannie, wouldst ya like to say a few words, or can I get started?"
The fire wyrdling blinks.
Cosannie recites:
"It's a pleasure to have this event, and see our squires working hard"
You grin wryly.
Cosannie recites:
"All join Janarth, and we can get started"
Cosannie nods to you.
You recite:
"We're going to talk about magical items, their creation and use (including charging, and the various ways they can be activated). We're going to talk plainly (out of character) to make it as clear as possible."
"As used here, when we say "magical items", we mean those that can be created with the Magic Item Creation/420 spell, charged with the Charge Item/517 spell, or created with the Holy Receptacle/325 spell."
"Please - and I mean this seriously - please feel free to speak up, or whisper to me, if anything I say is unclear"
"I will talk about Magical Item Creation/420 first, and then Charwiz will talk about Charge Item/517, Elamien will talk about "blessing" spells into gems and imbued objects, then we'll answer questions, and we'll use the balance of our time to make or charge some items for the audience."
"Wizards, Sorcerers, Bards, Rogues and Warriors all have access to Magic Item Creation/420, but in practice, you'll find it most used by Wizards (whose access to Wizard Circle/900s and Major Elemental Circle/500s is unique) and Sorcerers (who can imbed spells from the Minor Spiritual Circle/100s, Sorcerer Circle/700s as well as Minor Elemental/400s)."
"Almost any spell 20th level and below can be imbedded from those circles, with some exceptions (notably Magic Item Creation itself, Call Familiar, Wizard Shield, etc. - see https://gswiki.play.net/Magic_Item_Creation_(420) for a full list). And Bard 'songs' can't be imbedded either because of their nature as songs."
You say, "A moment folks, while I help some attendees get here."
You hear very soft footsteps.
Lehon adopts an agreeable expression.
Hollybear smiles.
You wave to Hollybear.
Hollybear waves to you.
Cosannie says, "Hello Hollybear."
Lehon bows to Hollybear.
Hollybear softly says, "Greetings."
Hollybear curtsies politely to Lehon.
You recite:
"Some practical use cases:"
"Almost everyone (except Wizards) benefits from Strength/509, to help with encumbrance issues and provide a bit extra melee attack strength"
"Folks without access to the minor spiritual circle or currently trained in it can benefit from an Unposion/114 or Undisease/113 item when hunting critters who are poisonous or can disease. This also applies to Poison Resist/105 and Disease Resist/104"
"Many defensive spells outside folks' own circles can be useful in dire situations (invasions, rescuing a fallen friend, etc.) some of the most common are Spirit Barrier/102 (extra defense for folks who bolt or using warding spells), Spirit Warding 1/101 and Spir Warding II/107, Elemental Defense 1/401, Elemental Defense II/406, Thurfel's Ward/503, Elemental Deflection/507, and Mass Blur/911"
"Different utility spells can be situationally useful, such as Floating Disk/511 (for extra carrying capacity), Lock Pick Enhancement/403 and Disarm Enhancement/404 (for picking), Eye Spy/707 (to scout ahead), or Call Wind/912 (to fight clouds or room effects)"
You smile.
You recite:
"Magic items can be activated via different means, though one must choose the specific mean at the time of creation. There are pros and cons to each of these methods though:"
"WAVE is required for offensive magic (to focus a spell at something else). There is no bonus to activation."
Lehon says, "More folks."
You smile at Lehon.
The raven cocks her head intelligently.
You recite:
"Using a "TAP" is the easiest method to activate an item, but at the expense of duration. That said, for spells with no duration - elemental wave, grasp of the grave, etc. - this is a great 'activator'"
"Using "RUB" provides no bonus to activation, but no penalty to duration either. General purpose (other than offensive)."
Granfenberg just came through some arched wooden double doors.
Hollybear leans softly against Granfenberg.
You recite:
"Using "RAISE" increases the normal duration of a spell in a magical item, at the expense of being a bit tougher to activate. It's a great alternative for defensive spells, where you may wish to trade skill to activate for duration."
Lehon nods to Granfenberg in greeting.
Lehon smiles.
You smile at Granfenberg.
You recite:
"Magic Item Use skill is required to activate magical items, with higher level spells requiring more skill, and actually knowing the spell, or having the ability to learn it aiding in activation (e.g. all being equal, a Rogue will have an easier time activating Elemental Blade/411 (which Rogues can learn with a lot of training in the Minor Elemental Circle) than Floating Disk/511."
Granfenberg nods.
You recite:
"Magic items can be made from certain jewelry, orb gems, or imbued items (which Rangers can make). The amount of charges of a spell they can hold depends on how much mana the item itself can hold."
"Casting Elemental Detection/405 on an item will let you know if an item already has a spell, can be imbedded with a spell, or is not well suited to imbedding."
You remove an agate-inset gold neckchain from in your red cloak.
You gesture and invoke the powers of the elements for the Elemental Detection spell...
Your spell is ready.
You gesture at an agate-inset gold neckchain.
You sense that this is a magical item. There seems to be no spells or charges but the flows of essence are strangely attracted to it. You estimate that it can contain an average amount of mana.
You detect that an agate-inset gold neckchain can be recharged to its original capacity by a merchant.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
You say, "This neckhain is ready to be imbedded; Elemental Detection says "You sense that this is a magical item. There seems to be no spells or charges but the flows of essence are strangely attracted to it."."
You recite:
"Orb gems require a Grot t'kel potion before a spell can be imbedded. Most treasure system found embeddables do not require this. Such as the neckchain I am holding"
"I should clarify, via 420...Clerics, which Elamien will talk about, CAN use Holy Receptable to "bless" spells into orb gems WITHOUT a Grot potion"
Elamien agrees with you.
You recite:
"But sorcerers, wizards and others using Magic Item Creation/420 require a grot potion to 'imbed' a spell into an orb gem"
"Imbued items are great, with rods holding as much as 80 mana, and not requiring a a Grot t'kel potion. For example, a wizard who wants to get the benefit of the extra defense from Spirit Barrier/102 could have 40 charges of the spell imbedded, and if it uses the RAISE activator, each use of the item would last for 26 minutes, even without any knowledge of the Minor Spiritual Circle."
You say, "Of course, the wizard would need a willing sorcerer to imbed Spirit Barrier in a rod for them."
You nod.
You recite:
"To actually create the item, simple prepare 420, and cast it at the item (e.g. use "my wand" to make sure you're casting at your wand). Once cast, you "IMBED [spell] IN [item] USING [activator] FOR [number] CHARGES" using the earlier example "IMBED 102 IN ROD USING RAISE FOR 40 CHARGES". Note you do NOT use the "my" when using the imbed command, only on the cast. Whether an attempt at magical item creation succeeds is determined by level, the level of the spell, the number of charges you're attempting to put in, the material of the item, and whether you're in a workshop."
Charwiz says, "Good thing we have at least two of them here."
Charwiz grins at you.
You grin at Charwiz.
You recite:
"I'll now pass it over to Charwiz to talk about recharging items, and after that we'll do some Q&
A and then make some items!"
You cough.
You recite:
"I apologize, after Charwiz, Elamien will speak on Holy Receptacle, THEN we will do some Q&A"
You turn to face Charwiz.
Charwiz recites:
"Thank you Janarth"
Charwiz bows.
Charwiz recites:
"Hello folks!"
Charwiz recites:
"I am Great Lord Charwiz Areoron the Elementalis
I am by profession, a wizard
Who visited his trainer for the 54th time yesterday
I have mastered the wizard guild
Which makes me a master alchemist as well."
"Tonight, I plan to give you the basics of recharging, spell 517"
"Charge Item allows a properly trained wizard to place more charges into appropriate magical items, and to recharge those items."
"What does a properly trained wizard need to train in?"
"The three skills that directly aid in success are, in order of importance: ranks in the Major Elemental spell circle, Magic Item Use, and Elemental Mana Control (EMC). Being in a magical workshop will also add a bonus to success."
"Other factors, skills, and societal powers that do not directly influence the success of the spell, but may be useful otherwise, include the value of the gem, Harness Power, Spiritual Mana Control, Sign of Wracking, Symbol of Mana, and Sigil of Power."
Charwiz recites:
"Charge Item is recommended to be a group activity as a lot of mana is required."
"The more an item is charged, the more difficult it is to further add charges, and the more severe the failures will be."
"In addition, higher level and non-elemental spells are more difficult to charge."
"Failures with the spell vary. The most extreme failure results in "greening" the item, preventing it from ever being charged again. Other failures include loss of mana points or injury to the caster. Catastrophic failure, resulting in complete destruction of the item, is no longer possible."
"Speaking of Mana points, let's take a closer look at this"
"The mana cost for charging a spell varies based on the type of spell and ranks in Elemental Mana Control (EMC)."
"With twenty-four ranks in EMC, charging a spell from within an Elemental sphere will cost the same as the spell."
You nod at Charwiz.
Charwiz recites:
"A Spiritual or Mental spell will cost three times as much as the spell, and a Sorcerer Base spell will cost twice as much."
You put an agate-inset gold neckchain in your red cloak.
Charwiz recites:
"For example, when charging a blue crystal (Spirit Strike (117)). This spell costs 17 mana to cast and is a spiritual spell. Thus, it would require 17 3 = 51 mana to increase the charge on the blue crystal by one."
"Further training in Elemental Mana Control will reduce this cost by 1 point per 5 ranks in Elemental Mana Control."
Charwiz recites:
"With 100 ranks in Elemental Mana Control, the cost to increase the charge on the blue crystal will be (17 3) - (100 5) = 31. To reduce the cost to charge the crystal to the base cost of 17, 170 ranks of Elemental Mana Control are needed."
"The wizard can have enough enhancives and Ascension ranks to reach 400 ranks in EMC. With 400 ranks in EMC a wizard could recharge a ruby amulet with the cost of 40 mana per charge. Instead of the 120 it would have cost."
"Experience is gained at 10 xp per charge restored, with a 500 xp cap per hour."
"Channeling this spell at a rechargeable item will instantly green the item, but give the mage a chance to instantly add up to 5 charges to that item. This is intended to allow a little extra utility from this spell while in the field without the full commitment of a charging session. This ability may require more mana than traditional charging."
"The spell recharge item (517) is time sensitive and uses a ton of mana."
"Any recharge session that a wizard attempts to do, that wizard needs a group of mana sharing people"
"A mana channeling person is handy to be in this group."
"For example, I only train in EMC, but take Cosannie here, she trains in both EMC and SMC. So she can acceot mana from Elamien SMC and channel it to me with EMC. So, his mana would be useful to me."
"Because there will not be enough time for the wizard to regain mana before the orb goes bye bye"
Cosannie agrees with Charwiz.
Charwiz recites:
"Now before we get down to business, lets look over some helpful Factors"
Charwiz recites:
"Value of the Orb Gem
Though not a determinant to success, more valuable gems will last longer as orbs, allowing more charges to be placed in an item if desired. The value and/or quality may also limit the amount of charges that can be added to a single item."
"Harness Power
By increasing the wizard's mana capacity, more charges may be placed into an item before the orb explodes."
"Spiritual Mana Control (SMC)
This allows the charging wizard to receive mana from classes that employ Spiritual Mana, such as clerics and empaths."
"Sign of Wracking, Symbol of Mana, and Sigil of Power
These societal powers provide the wizard with more mana."
"So, what will we need to get this job done?"
"An orb gem worth at least 1000 silver, a grot t'kel potion, and a magical item that can be charged are needed to use this spell with less penalties."
"You can also substitute a pure grot t'kel shard instead of an orb gem and potion."
You nod thoughtfully.
Charwiz recites:
"For 9000 silver you can buy a pure grot t'kel shard at the wizard guild and wont need an orb gem or grot t'kel potion. A bit pricier than buying the potion for 1200 silvers at the town alchemist shop (or making one with alchemy) and the cost of an orb gem."
"I really wouldn't recommend the shard though, and this is why."
Charwiz recites:
"This item acts like a low-quality prepared gem and will work for charging items in a charge session. This item does not carry the pure gem bonus for reducing mana costs in charging and carries an additional penalty to the charging process."
"An additional penalty of 1% chance to green per orb per item will be applied when using this item to add charges."
"These items are intended to allow adding charges to low value items, but not intended to completely replace pure gems in the charging process. They are not recommended for use with highly prized rechargeable items."
"Chargeable items include some common items such as small statues (older statues may have to be used once first), heavy quartz orbs, heavy moonstone cubes, dull gold coins, blue crystals, ruby amulets, and nearly every wand. Note that white crystals and black crystals are not chargeable in their natural state."
"Casting Elemental Detection at an item will indicate the current number of charges, validity of the item for charging, the maximum amount of charges, and the item's durability."
"We need to get our orb gem ready"
"To begin, pour the grot t'kel potion on the orb gem, then CAST 517 at the gem. After casting the spell, the gem will be replaced with a pulsating orb which appears on the ground. It can not be retrieved. If the potion evaporates, the gem is not an orb gem."
"Time sensitive"
"In order to prepare the pulsating orb for charging, the charger must CAST 517 at the orb repeatedly until it begins "flickering in color and humming tones of enchantment." If the orb continues to grow in size, it is approaching preparedness. The successive casts of Charge Item only cost 1 mana point each, as opposed to the full 17 of the initial cast."
"Only the original caster may maintain or use the orb for recharging, another wizard may NOT interact with the orb."
Charwiz recites:
"Each cast of Charge Item has a chance of failure and may reduce the size of the pulsating orb. Additional casts of Charge Item will be required in order to prepare the pulsating orb for charging:"
"Now that the orb is ready, you will need the item to be recharge in wizards hand. At this point, if you had a Rodyn potion, I would pour it onto the item now."
"Rodyn potion will convert any magic item into mage rechargeable items for 60 seconds. During this time a wizard may use an orb prepared with Charge Item (517) to charge the item with no chance of failure (assuming the item hasn't deteriorated to the point of not being chargeable--verifiable via merchant messaging on Elemental Detection (405)) and much lower mana costs (1 mana per charge) than traditional mage charging. A single potion will allow the addition of upwards of 200 charges to a single n"
"Again Time Sensitive"
"These Rodyn potions are extremely expensive, or least I think so."
"These potions can only be made by a wizard that is an alchemy master."
"These can only be found after extracting a plinite found in the Elemental Confluence. A capped hunting area"
"See my problem there?"
You nod at Charwiz.
Cosannie says, "You're not old enough."
Charwiz recites:
"I have asked on merchant channel for these cores, and was told I could buy one for 5,000,000 silvers."
"Yeah, to me for 60 seconds it is not worth that much to me."
Charwiz sighs.
Charwiz recites:
"One elder wizard offered to sell me the potion for the same price, and I was like thank you, but no."
"So let us get back to recharging without the 5 million silver potion."
You ask, "But it allows converting an item to rechargeable, if it previously wasn't? for certain spells, that may be worth it?"
Lehon says, "Sounds good."
Charwiz recites:
"Once the pulsating orb is sufficiently prepared for charging, the pulsating orb must be rubbed with the item to be charged in the wizard's right hand."
"When charges are successfully added to the item, mana will be drained from the wizard. The following messaging indicates that charges have been successfully added to the item:"
Charwiz says, "It may, but not to me."
Charwiz recites:
"You gesture over the pulsating orb while holding a blue crystal near it."
"Minor Failures"
"If the wizard does not have sufficient mana to place a charge into the item, the following message will be received (no mana will be drained from the wizard in this case) You gesture over the pulsating orb while holding a blue crystal near it."
"A strand of pure essence leaps from the orb and onto the crystal!"
"Nothing else seems to happen."
Charwiz recites:
"If the orb is not valuable enough or the item cannot hold more charges, the following message will be received (no mana will be drained from the wizard in this case)
You gesture over the pulsating orb while holding a blue crystal near it."
"A strand of pure essence leaps from the orb and onto the crystal!"
"If the pulsating orb is not sufficiently prepared for charging, the following message will be received (no mana will be drained from the wizard in this case)
The orb isn't properly prepared for recharging."
"Additional minor failures to charge are evident by the following messaging:"
"A strand of pure essence leaps from the orb and onto the crystal!
You are unable to properly channel the flows."
"Major Failure ("Greening")"
A pained expression crosses Lehon's face.
Charwiz recites:
"Attempting to recharge an item may also result in a major failure. This type of failure will cause the wizard to lose all of their mana and the item to become unrechargeable. Due to the failure message, this is commonly referred to as "greening" an item"
You ask, "I was gonna ask: what do you mean by "greening"?"
Charwiz says, "The messaging says greening, its like death."
Charwiz recites:
"It flares a sickening green and then goes dim."
Charwiz recites:
"During the charging process, the pulsating orb will reduce in size and require further preparation for charging. The wizard must monitor the ambient messaging of the pulsating orb in order to properly maintain it for use (the shrinkage messaging is ambient, rather than triggered by any direct character action)."
"When this occurs, the wizard should return to the orb preparation stage of charging, casting 517 at the pulsating orb repeatedly until it is once again ready for charging. The same failure messaging, success messaging, and mana point cost applies. A shrinking orb is evident by the following"
"The pulsating orb shrinks somewhat."
"Eventually, the pulsating orb will expire. Pulsating orbs have a finite lifespan and the eventual expiration of pulsating orbs is natural. The pulsating orb will also expire in the same manner if it was never sufficiently prepared for charging."
"The pulsating orb suddenly implodes into nothing but some lingering smoke!"
"The good news here is only the orb is gone, no one gets hurt"
Lehon taps something in a berry-stained harvest sack.
Charwiz recites:
"This conclude my lecture portion, i'll pass this to Elamien now, and rechrging demo afterwards"
Charwiz bows to Elamien.
You exclaim, "Thank ya Charwiz!"
Elamien recites:
"Thank you Charwiz"
"Hello everyone, tonight, I will be talking about the base portion of the spell Holy Receptacle (325)."
Elamien recites:
"With training in the various Spiritual Lores, a cleric casting this spell can bring about up to five additional effects, based on tiered increases in lore training."
Elamien recites:
"These tiers are
Tier one: silver to gold
Tier two: Brimstone, or otherwise known as grenades
Tier three: Nexus
Tier four: chrism
Tier five: Intercession"
"As you see, a very complex, busy spell, with a lot of attributes. It simply would take more time than we actually have tonight to hit all six areas and do them all justice. So let us get down to the basics of this spell, the blessing portion."
"Holy Receptacle allows a cleric to create a variety of magical items from orb gems. At its base, the spell functions similarly to the Minor Elemental spell Magic Item Creation (420), but uses orb gems instead of blank magical objects, and does not require the use of a grot t'kel potion. Items created with the ranger spell Imbue (614) may also be used for spell imbedding."
"To use spell blessing into an orb gem, a cleric needs spirit lore blessing with: 1 rank min and 21 rank max"
"The base functionality of the spell allows clerics to bless most spells known to them into the gem, at a mana cost equal to the amount of mana placed into the gem. Gems possess a maximum amount of mana that they can hold, based on the quality of the stone. Using the base value of the gem, the mana capacity formula appears to be 12 + ROUND(VALUE/200). So, the value of the gem only matters to how many charges will go into it, unlike the other tiers."
"To use blessed gems, you will need to have at least the same rank of Magic Item Use, (MIU) as the spell level. For example, spell 101 you would need minimum of one rank, where as bravery being 211, will need 11 ranks minimum of MIU."
Elamien recites:
"The more MIU skill you learn, the longer your spell will last. I tested this theory out. Results, a cleric with 33 ranks of MIU and a ranger with 33 ranks of MIU the spell lasted 38 mins 30 sec per use of magical item. Now a cleric with 51 ranks of miu their spell lasted 54 mins 30 sec. So MIU is a good skill to learn."
"Success Factors"
"Caster's level
Spell circle and spell level attempted
Minor Spiritual spells are the most difficult, Major Spiritual being the medium, and Cleric spells are the easiest
Number of charges"
"Training in Spiritual Lore, Blessings lowers chance of failure. This benefit caps at 21 ranks and 7-9%
Most shrines provide a positive modifier
A shrine of the cleric's deity will provide the greatest benefit"
"A shrine of another deity of the same pantheon as the cleric's deity will provide a smaller benefit
A shrine of another deity who is opposed to the cleric's deity will provide a penalty"
"Excluded Spells"
"Excluding the following three spells, all Spiritual and Cleric Base spells level 19 (Lesser Shroud (120) is blessable) and under are able to be imbedded via Holy Receptacle:"
"Major Spiritual: Heroism (215) and Spell Shield (219)"
"And Cleric: Raise Dead (318)"
"Any questions for me?"
You applaud Elamien.
Speaking to you, Elamien says, "Back to you sir."
You say, "My tardiness limits us, but I want to make sure any questions folks have get answered."
You nod at Nymmurh.
You say, "Please, go ahead."
Nymmurh asks, "Outside of casting 517 to instantly green an item, can you still use any remaining charges in an item you green?"
You turn to face Charwiz.
You ask, "Charwiz, this seems like a question for a wizard, can ya aid us here?"
Charwiz recites:
"Yes you can"
Nymmurh nods.
You nod firmly.
Charwiz recites:
"Now if you are up to striping down, and hiking to the moonbean, you can recharge items up there as well"
Nymmurh chuckles.
Charwiz recites:
"Its a hike up there and time consuming"
Nymmurh says, "If it's the same one I went to for Voln, that won't be happening."
The raven cocks her head intelligently.
Lehon chuckles.
Charwiz recites:
"It is the same place"
You say, "Anyone else? Questions for Charwiz, me or Elamien? If not, we are happy to offer imbedding, recharging or blessing - I'll place this cloak down with some blank embeddables we are happy to imbed for ya."
You carefully place a red cloak on the floor.
Deneri asks, "How do you know how much mana an item will take?"
Charwiz removes an etched silver earcuff from in his wizard's manteau.
>
Lehon turns an inquisitive ear toward Deneri.
The raven stretches one of her wings.
You say, "Elemental detection will provide ya a general sense when cast on an item."
Charwiz recites:
"By 405ing an item, you can get an idea, normally an item holds 40 mana unless it is empowered"
Charwiz makes a quick gesture while calling upon the powers of the elements...
You nod at Charwiz.
Charwiz gestures at an etched silver earcuff.
The raven preens herself quietly.
You ask, "Charwiz, am I right when I say that rangers' imbued items are some of the most advanced items in terms of the mana they can hold?"
Deneri takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.
Charwiz recites:
"You sense that the earcuff is a magic item that holds the spell "Elemental Wave" with 4 charges.
It is a mage rechargeable item.
You estimate you're skilled enough to push this item to a maximum of 35 charges in a single session.
The earcuff appears to be in good shape."
"Is what i see when i cast 405 at it"
You say, "Most of the items in the red cloak will hold "an average mount of mana" - but some of them will hold a "a large amount"."
Nymmurh asks, "Do ranks of mana control other than EMC figure into the skill check?"
You turn to face Charwiz.
Elamien recites:
"Anyone interested in Prayer of Protection or dims?”
Elamien recites:
"I have blank ranger rods that i can put bravery in if you like"
Hollybear nods at Elamien.
Lehon says, "I'm not smart enough."
Lehon sighs.
Speaking to Hollybear, Elamien says, "Which would you like."
Hollybear softly says, "Braverly please."
Elamien put a heavy backpack in his sturdy leather pack.
Elamien removes a twisted rod from in his heavy backpack.
Lehon gestures.
Speaking to Nymmurh, you say, "I will follow up on that question for ya."
Nymmurh nods to you.
The raven cocks her head intelligently.
Elamien says, "Raise, or wave."
Nymmurh says, "I know on a few other things I've read up on, there were comments about 1/2 ranks and such, wasn't sure if it would apply with this."
Hollybear softly says, "Raise please."
You say, "Again, I apologize for my tardiness which caused a late start, but thank you Charwiz and Elamien for providing their expertise on the wizard and cleric side of magical items."
Placing the fingers of his left hand upon the back of his right, Elamien slowly traces out a pattern on his copper skin and an ethereal light begins to illuminate his veins. Slowly, methodically, Elamien intones a soft prayer and the patterns, which now dance like eels beneath waves, suddenly burst from his flesh in a fine mist.
Elamien gestures at an enruned gold rod.
Nymmurh applauds you.
Nymmurh applauds Charwiz.
The raven hops around the room.
Nymmurh applauds Elamien.
The raven preens herself quietly.
Elamien gestures at a twisted rod.
A quick prayer uttered by Elamien causes the twisted rod to glow slightly.
Elamien concentrates intently on a twisted rod. You can see power pulsing through the essence thread connecting him to the rod.
Elamien says, "8 charges."
Hollybear's face lights up with joy for Elamien.
Elamien offers Hollybear a twisted rod.
Hollybear accepts Elamien's twisted rod.
Elamien removes a slender mistwood rod from in his heavy backpack.
You say, "And we intended to offer imbedding, charging and blessing for folks...please let me know if the blank items in the red cloak strike your fancy."
Hollybear softly says, "Thank ye kindly."
Elamien says, "This holds 303."
Elamien offers Hollybear a slender mistwood rod.
Hollybear accepts Elamien's mistwood rod.
Hollybear beams happily at Elamien!
Hollybear put a slender mistwood rod in her leather cloak.
Hollybear put a twisted rod in her leather cloak.
Elamien says, "With 29 charges."
Elamien removes a tree bark amulet from in his heavy backpack.
You exclaim, "Or if ya need an orb gem or imbued item for 'holy receptacle'. Thanks for Daingneach Onoir for helping to support this talk!"
Speaking softly to Elamien, Hollybear says, "Verra kind of ye, thank ye."
Deneri asks, "Can I hold one of the blank imbeds to see what 405 looks like when cast on them?"
