Founding of Onoir Why

by Lady Roelaren

Recite I want to thank all of ye for being here tonight to help us celebrate the 23rd anniveray of the starting of House Daingneach Onoir
Recite Many of us have been members of this family for a lot of years, some not so many. Many of us know a lot about the founders and the reason for our house, but I feel our new members do not.
Recite I want to talk a bit about the founding of Onoir, the why of it, the reason for it, and the founders.
Recite We have three books in our library about the early years of Onoir and also a lecture given by Sir Morgiest on the Founding of Onoir. I have been working on another book but the progress has been slow.
Recite I am pulling this information from several documents
Recite About two months prior to the actual founding of House Onoir, twelve gathered together. The founders hearld from House Phoenix, The Silver Gryphons, Heldan Hall. Their names were: Lord Aonghus our founding father, Lady Elana, his faithful bride, Lord Truekillr, Lord Thrudh and Lady Zyanna,, Lord Cynric, Master Locksmith Rhozevy, Lord Ravenwulf , Lord Dragonshield, Lady Ingrid, Lady Karissa, and Lord Morgiest.
recite These men and women gathered so they could help folks in a better, diffent way. As sir Morgiest said, : They stated the House purpose was, teaching honor, and leading by example.
Recite in another entry Morgiest deeply says, "What ah truely wished tae speak on, is whats nae in our library."Exactly what we were thinkin when we founded Onoir.
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah were approached by Lord Aonghus, some few months afore bout formin a new order within the landin."
, "He and I, along with several other a the original founders, as well as some whom did nae decide tae join us, spoke fer some 3-4 months bout formin this new group.">
"We wished tae hae a group, that stood fer the chivalric values all of us allready held.">
, "We wanted this group, as a means of organizin a better means tae teach those who wished tae listen, bout chivalry, and what it means tae follow a code of chivalry.", "Our original bylaws reflected that."
Morgiest deeply says, "We were teachers." "In the early days.."
, "Ye must recall this was some round a year afore anyun had e'en heard a the "mentors"."
>"Our members used tae take turns, sittin round bout the alley where new folks entered the lands."
>, "And offerin our services tae those freshly arrived."
Morgiest deeply says, "We did this without bias, and would speak and aid any that wished tae speak tae us.
"Balantine quietly says, "World was quite different back then, aye."
>Morgiest deeply says, "Some o our first squires were found in this manner.

Recite then Sir Morgiest goes on to tell about the other Lord Paldins and how the house branched out into other things like we do now.
Recite I would suggest that you read the works that are in the Library on the History of Onoir. I want to recite a poem I wrote about the founders. Then I would like Lord Balantine to recite his poem about our LPs
Recite if time permits I want to recite a poem by one of our Bards Kello. He has left the lands but his music lives on. His words bring music to your ears and a song to your heart.
