Morgiest deeply says, "Well. Ah reckon ah will go head an git started then."
Thaleles leans forward and rests his chin in his hand, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Asrak turns an inquisitive ear towards Morgiest.

Grandevr turns an inquisitive ear towards Morgiest.

Tebon grins.

>
Tsule chuckles.
>
Tebon leans back.
>
Henigren clasps his arms around his knees and rocks back and forth.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "There were originally 12 members a Onoir."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The twelve a us gathered in the Month a Lumnea, 5097."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Of the twelve founders, ah personally knew 7 a them, , the reputations proceeded 3 a them, and one, ah had n'er met."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "They were."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lord Aonghus was our foundin father."
>
>Morgiest deeply says, "He was a former member a the Silver Gryphons, and was in Phoenix at the time a our foundin."
Morgiest deeply says, "Lady Elana, his wife, was a healer of no small renown. She also was a member a Phoenix."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lord Truekillr, was a high priest of Lorminstra, as well as a member of Phonix."

>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lord Ravenwulf, humble monk, and likely one the most honrable people ah hae e'er known."
>
Tebon mutters herehere.
>
Sherysse applauds.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lord Dragonshield, and Lady Ingrid, husband and wife."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The former an officer a helden, the later, the leader of Helden."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lady Karissa, a warrior of Kai, and member of Phoenix."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "And myself, a follower of Kai, but not a member of any group or order at the time."
>
Sherysse says, "And a leader, none the less, sir."
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah will nae go intae much detail on the founders, more then that, ye may find in our library at present."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "What ah truely wished tae speak on, is whats nae in our library."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Exactly what we were thinkin when we founded Onoir."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah shall nae try and diserne my fellow members motives, but will instead pass along my own reasons, along with what ah felt the group was founded fer, when it differs from me own ideas."
>
Morgiest smiles.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "After ahm done, ah ask ye all tae give voice tae any questions ye hae bout our history. Ah shall answer them as best ah kin."
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah were approached by Lord Aonghus, some few months afore bout formin a new order within the landin."
Morgiest deeply says, "He and I, along with several other a the original founders, as well as some whom did nae decide tae join us, spoke fer some 3-4 months bout formin this new group."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We wished tae hae a group, that stood fer the chivalric values all of us allready held."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We wanted this group, as a means of organizin a better means tae teach those who wished tae listen, bout chivalry, and what it means tae follow a code of chivalry."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Our original bylaws reflected that."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "They were a simple one page document, that is almost entirely contianed in our statement of purpose that survives today in our present bylaws."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We were teachers."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "In the early days.."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ye must recall this was some round a year afore anyun had e'en heard a the "mentors"."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Our members used tae take turns, sittin round bout the alley where new folks entered the lands."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "And offerin our services tae those freshly arrived."
>
Sherysse applauds.
You say, "And da Catacombs."
>
Henigren smiles and quietly nods.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We did this without bias, and would speak and aid any that wished tae speak tae us."
>
Balantine quietly says, "World was quite different back then, aye."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Some o our first squires were found in this manner."
>
Sherysse beams happily at Morgiest!
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Some year er so after our foundin, shortly before Lord Aonghus death, the order of Lorekeepers came intae existance."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Well, these two events, of course hit Onoir hard."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Under the leadership of Lord Drandar, we continued on the same path, but moved to other areas."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We started to branch out intae other things as well."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "General history, public speakin, our first attempts at events. All this occured under Lord Drandar."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "He served only a short time as Lord paladin, some 11 months, but he did pull us thru those very dark times."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "It was after Lord Drandar steppin down, that Lord Tebon was elected tae lead us."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "It was Lord Tebon who did the huge job a overseein the rewrite of our bylaws, intae thier present form."
>
Tebon says, "Wit Morgiest's assistance on e'ery werd I might add."
You see Morgiest Frostgiant the Cavalier.
He appears to be a Giant of the Wsalamir Clan.
He appears to be advanced in years and very tall. He has brooding crystal blue eyes and pale skin. He has long, steel grey hair worn in a single braid. He has a weathered face, a crooked nose and thick bushy eyebrows.
He has a glaes-inlaid thick black pipe clenched between his teeth, a braided white beard, and a tattooed symbol of Kai on his neck.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a pure white polar bear hide greatcloak, a granite tear, a silver-traced white diamond pendant, a small rose, an ice blue and white tartan greatkilt, a hammered invar kilt pin, a Warrior Guildmaster pin, a steel-studded white leather backpack, a red and black enameled pin, a black enameled bracer with a silver gryphon set in a ruby circle, a thick rhimar armband, some white wolf hide arm wraps, a large steel mesh sack, some white wolf hide leggings, some grey silver-toed boots, a pair of golden spurs, a gold inlaid black vultite breastplate, a gold ring, and an imperial infantry baldric with a dark vultite stout footman's hammer secured to it.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "He served some 18 months in this capacity, and also oversaw the creation of the first guild in Onoir, the Guild of the Quill."
>
Morgiest smiles at Tebon.
>>
Tebon smiles at Morgiest.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah was then elected tae lead Onoir. Ah led Onoir fer some 16 months, durin which time we added two orders."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The Azure Hydra, and the Silver fist, as well as the Adventurers guild."
Morgiest deeply says, "Upon my retirement, Lord Tebon was again elected tae lead Onoir, only havin stepped down recently a course."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Durin his last tenure as Lord Paladin, he oversaw the creation of the Knights Marshall, and the Merchants guild."
>
Morgiest ponders.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "There are complete lists of all the officers a Onoir, as well as the guild leaders. Along with the dates of the creation of the positions, listed in our hall a memories."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Additionally, there are 3 books that detail the first three Lord paladins tenures, fer those whom hae a further interest in those matters.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "In the interest a time, ah will simply open the floor fer comments, and questions. Ah shall stay as late as ah kin, and answer what ah kin."
>
Tebon says, "Nae all at once now."
>
Tebon grins.
>
Thaleles rubs his chin thoughtfully.
>
Morgiest chuckles.
>
(Morgiest drops a pin)
>
Morgiest deeply exclaims, "Plick!"
>
Morgiest deeply asks, "Lord Balantine?"
>
Balantine asks, "I became aware of the Silver Gryphons before I heard about Onoir, would ye like to discuss the similarity and differences of the two groups?"
>
Grandevr says, "Good question."
>
Tebon furrows his brow.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The Silver Gryphons predate Onoir by several years. 3 ah believe ifin ah recall correctly."
>
Tebon says, "Give er take."
>
Shirkon deeply says, "Ats least dat."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Many of our founders were members a the Gryphons, and thier purposes are entirely different."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "While both groups hold tae the codes a chivalry, the purpose a the Gryphons is the protection of the landin."
>
Henigren raises his hand.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The purpose of Onoir, first and foremost, is that of teachers. But, a close second purpose we hold is the protection of the weak, wherever they need our aid."
>
Morgiest deeply asks, "Is that a satisfactory answer? Er would ye like a mer detailed reply?"
>
Morgiest smiles at Balantine.
>
Balantine says, "Aye, thank ye for clarifyin that for us."
>
Balantine smiles.
>
Morgiest nods to Henigren.
>
Henigren quietly asks, "Why did Onoir develop guilds, exactly? Was it to organize tasks better, or to facilitate growth, or something else? And is it likely there will be more guilds in the future?"
>
Asrak nods.
>
Morgiest deeply asks, "Henigren?"
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Tae spread out the workload primarily. Although, growth was also a consideration."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "And aye, ah imagine as long as Onoir exists, and its members hae an interest in doin so, there shall always be new guilds and orders."
>
Kylinarr appears somehow different.
>
Grandevr rubs his chin thoughtfully.
>
Henigren quietly says, "Had it been before that too few folk were bearing too heavy a load? I'm curious about the decisions around the guild structure development, about joining more than one guild, and the like."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "What Onoir does, is alot of work. Some members may nae see it all, but believe me, its a ton a real work."
>
Morgiest chuckles.
>
Morgiest ponders.
>
Tebon grins.
>
Tebon nods to Morgiest.
>
Tebon says, "Wat he said."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Well, we started tae want tae do so much, that six officers couldnt do it all."
>
Henigren turns an inquisitive ear towards Morgiest.
You say, "I think guilds were also to help members to do things they were interested in too in a group setting."
>
Morgiest nods to you.
>
Grandevr says, "While still operating under the overall umbrella that is Onoir."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Aye. The guilds were organized tae handle specific duties really."
You say, "Stuff like the merchants did with their auction is much better done as a group."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The Quill was tae aid in record keepin."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The Adventurers guild tae run house hunts..."
>
Shirkon deeply says, "An gived us ole folks a place ta tells stories."
>
Tebon grins at Shirkon.
>
Grandevr says, "Like tonight."
>
Grandevr grins.
>
Tebon starts chortling.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "It was seen as a way tae share the burden, while keepin as many members as possible involved in as much as they wished to participate in."
Henigren quietly says, "How did you address the possibility of the house fractioning into the distinct guilds so much that the members wouldn't be aware of the regular doings of the other guilds? I mean other than at house meetings? I'm sorry for being so curious about it all."
>
Henigren pants.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "It was never a concern."
>
Morgiest shrugs.
>
Thaleles says, "We still all keep in touch and communicate well, so whatever was done worked so far, at least."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "All guild and order meetins are always open tae all members a Onoir, whether they are members a that specific guild or order does nae matter."
>
Henigren quietly says, "Okies, I'll hush on it now. Thank you for answering me."
>
Grandevr says, "I floated a proposal a few weeks ago about the individual guilds/orders being more active within themselves, while still contributing to Onoir."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Well, actually, thats an important point Henigren."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Onoir has always been a family."
Morgiest deeply says, "Every person, from the newest squire, tae the oldest member, is really just part a one big family."
>
Tebon grunts.
>
Tebon nods.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We argue, we debate, but in the end, we all know, that we are each workin towards the same goal."
>
Morgiest ponders.
>
Tebon nods to Morgiest.
>
Tebon asks, "In yer opinion, wat is tha one thing...tha one key that 'as kept Onoir tagether fer so long?"
>
Tebon peers quizzically at Morgiest.
>
Morgiest deeply asks, "Lady Matti, ah missed ye ah believe?"
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Loyalty."
>
Tebon says, "Erp, sorry ta jump in like dat."
>
Tebon nods to Morgiest.
>
Tebon says, "I concur."
You say, "I have 2 questions for ya Lord Morg."
>
You ask, "What was your own personal reason for bein a Founder of Onoir? also what do you think is the most important thing we should be doing into the future if you had yer way?"
>
Morgiest nods to Grandevr.
>
Morgiest rubs his chin thoughtfully.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah trusted Aonghus. In the beginin, ah wasnae sure where he would lead us. But ah trusted his judgement nuff tae put aside my disdain fer joinin a group."
You say, "He had a definite charisma."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "He was very charismatic aye. He was a good friend as well."
Morgiest deeply says, "As fer as the future a Onoir.."
>
Morgiest shrugs.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Thats nae fer me tae decide. Ah know the members a Onoir. Whatever path they choose, it will be the right one fer the membership."
>
Thaleles raises his hand.
>
Morgiest deeply asks, "Squire Tsule?"
You say, "I'd kinda like to carry on with the founders wishes."
>
Tsule grins.
>
Speaking quietly in broken common, Tsule says, "Does Onoir have any enemies within the other clans? Other then the Dark Alliance I mean."
>
Tebon ponders.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Onoir does nae hae any ememies, period, e'en the dark alliance."
>
You say, "Injustice and ignorance."
>
Tsule nods to you.
>
Tebon says, "Individually, I'd say aye, but as a group...nae persay."
>
Tebon nods to Morgiest.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "We do nae react against groups, we react tae actions."
>
Tsule nods to Morgiest.
>
Morgiest hangs his head outside the door for a moment.
Morgiest deeply says, "Hmm. How do ah explain this..."
>
Morgiest furrows his brow.
>
Tsule turns an inquisitive ear towards Morgiest.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ifin ah were tae witness, and individual member a some group, cimmtin some atrocity, ah would die tryin tae stop it, up tae the point a killin em ifin that were the only way tae do so."
Speaking quietly in broken common, Tsule says, "That was the way of my people."
>
Tsule nods to Morgiest.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "But, jes cause so and so is a member o a group, while ah may watch em mer closely, they could walk by me, and ah would provide them that same protection, should ah witness them bein attacked in some less then honrable fashion."
>
Tsule nods.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah do nae judge people, ah judge actions."
>
Morgiest shrugs.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ahm simple that way ah reckon."
>
Tsule smiles at Morgiest.
>
Speaking quietly in broken common, Tsule says, "As it should be."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lord Grandevr, ye were next ah believe."
>
Grandevr nods to Morgiest.
>
Grandevr says, "First question..."
Grandevr says, "I was curious if there were ever any controversial member ... or an event/incident... that intentionally or inadvertently threatened the unity of Onoir."
>
Morgiest rubs his chin thoughtfully.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "None that threatened Onoir overall, but there hae been events in our history, where members left under less then good terms aye."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Thankfully, ah kin only think ah three such incidents, in our long history."
Grandevr asks, "Can you give like a summary? Or is it not really revelant?"
>
Morgiest ponders.
Morgiest deeply says, "One a the events occured between Lord Aonghus, and Lord Khazaan."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The resolved the issue tween themselves in the end."
>
Grandevr asks, "What was the issue? I'm guessing it involved the direction of Onoir?"
You ask, "I think it was attendance?"
>
Morgiest deeply says, "The other two events, were conducted under the blanket of the new bylaws, with reguards tae the removal a members. And as they occured without a trial, but durin the pretrial fact findin phase, ah cannae speak specifically about them."
>
Grandevr nods.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "It was a persoanl matter between Lord Aonghus, and Lord Khazaan. One that ahm honestly nae privy tae all the details."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "What ah know would be mere heresay."
You say, "Not sure who all was involved but I recall many of us were staying at Teras and Ghus wanted us to be at every other meeting or we get kicked out."
>
Grandevr says, "Well, my second question..."
>
You say, "Lotta folks got upset about that."
Grandevr says, "While I'm sure others may have their own opinion... I was wondering what you considered to be Onoir's strengths and weaknesses over the years since the founding."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Well, the greatest strength ah allready listed, and is our loyalty tae one another."
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah would gladly place meself intae any danger, fer one a me fellow members."
Grandevr asks, "Which probably kept the organization together during those "trying times" that you spoke of?"
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Our greatest weakness, and one that is common among all people, is our humanity."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Ah that in general terms a course, nae bein truely human meself."
>
Morgiest winks.
Morgiest deeply says, "Oh aye. It hae always been our loyalty tae one another that is the glue that binds us together."
Morgiest deeply says, "While the chivalric values we all hold dear urge us tae strive fer pefection, we all realise that an impossible goal tae attain. Thus, all of us hae our failins."
Morgiest deeply says, "Thats what makes us, well, us."
>
Morgiest deeply asks, "That answer yer questions sufficiently?"
>
Grandevr nods.
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lord Thaleles, ah believe ye were next."
>
Morgiest faces Borkul and smartly brings his right fist up to his chest. Holding it there, he bows deeply.
>
Borkul bows deeply at the waist, honoring Morgiest.
>
Thaleles asks, "Well, considering that you've seen the membership expand from a dozen people at its founding, to over 60, at the present, do you think that we will ever have to worry about our size becoming a hindrance?"
Morgiest deeply says, "It could aye. The closeness of the membership is what hae always made Onoir special in my mind. Ifin we grow tae the point that we dun really know each other, that would be a danger."

[Morgiest's Home]
A dark granite floor spreads across this room into surrounding walls of large granite. A silver-veined granite fireplace, an explorer's map of Pinefar hanging above it, stands guard over the cold black granite slab and polished black granite table that rest upon a large polar bear hide rug covering the floor. A lingering scent of oiled metal fills the air. You also see a large sack, the translucent Kylinarr disk, the Nitezor disk, the Asrak disk, a kelyn-edged casement window and a wooden door.
Also here: Morgiest, Bristenn who is sitting on the floor, Kylinarr who is sitting on the floor, Lady Nitezor who is sitting on the floor, Thaleles who is sitting on the floor, Tsule who is sitting on the floor, Asrak who is sitting back against the slab, Lord Balantine who is sitting on the floor, Lord Grandevr who is sitting on the floor, Tebon.
Obvious exits: none
>
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Lady Matti asked earlier what ah would do, ifin ah could."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "Instead ah would offer a suggestion. Make a point of it tae spend time with ever single member a Onoir ye kin. Everyone."
You say, "I kin say I have done that as much as possible and it really is wonderful."
You say, "You reward yerself in doin so."
>
Morgiest deeply says, "No need tae spend all yer time in the lands among yer fellow members, but ye should always stive tae stay in contact. Even ifin its only swappin tales over and ale fer a short time every so often."
