Andalusain

My story begins in Ta’Vaalor where I was born. I don’t remember my biological parents. From what I have been told, there was some horrible tragedy that befell them although no one would ever speak of it. I was adopted by a wonderful couple after the tragedy and they were the only caregivers I ever knew. I think they knew my parents because they had vast knowledge of my extended family and my background which they would share with me when I had questions. My caregivers told me that my parents had come to Ta’Vaalor from The Landing. They didn’t know why but they knew my extended family was there as well.
I spent my younger days romping through the forests and fields without a care in the world. I was notorious for finding animals that had been harmed, bringing them home and nurturing them back to health. I would also gather the wildflowers to take back to my home and place them in vases throughout various rooms. Truth be told, I would always take one or two to place in my hair.
As I grew older, I realized my days of romping were through. My caregivers were getting older and I would need a way to take care of myself if I didn’t want to become a beggar. I inquired about many different professions I could train for. One day, I was speaking with an elderly empath asking question after question. After my conversation, I immediately knew that this was my calling in spite of the elder’s comments about dedication and life-long commitment. What a perfect fit for the young child who spent days healing instead of harming! I immediately started my training but found myself growing more and more curious about the lands of my ancestors.
What was this “Landing” that my caregivers spoke of? Would I find distant family relatives there? After all, I had never known any members of my family. It would be wonderful to discover aunts, uncles, cousins and maybe even grandparents! I worked harder and harder every day and soon realized I had saved enough silver to hire a guide! Now came the big decision: To go or not to go? I loved my caregivers and it saddened me to leave them but my calling to my ancestors proved to be much stronger. I made the decision to go, hired the guide, hugged my caregivers and made my journey. It was long and teaming with danger. Things I had never seen before! As I was beginning to second guess my decision, we arrived.
The guide left me and I began to wander the streets. It was strange. Every step I took seemed familiar to me. The Temple, the Healer’s Tent, the Gem Shop and the Furrier. Eventually, I found my way to Town Square Central and seemed to recognize the old well, the bench, the oak tree. An overwhelming feeling of “I’m home” came over me and I was happy with my decision to make this adventurous move.
Alas, I have never found any extended family. I search daily but it seems they all wandered away much like my parents. I am content with the new family members that I have discovered in The Landing and cherish them daily. They may not be blood but they are kindred spirits and I thank The Universe daily for bringing them into my life.
