Aonghus MacGreghor

Aonghus MacGreghor
I am piecing together a concept of Sir Aonghus, using words said about him by others, and hope to create a snapshot of what he was like, if I am lucky. (Roelaren Stormshadow, wife of Barzillia Stormshadow. Current Lady Paladin 5115)
From Lord Morgiest, Foundations: First Book of the Official History of Onoir
Lord Aonghus our founding father, "Baby" always slung over his shoulder, stood tall for a human. He was a former member of the Order of the Silver gryphon's, and a present member of House Phoenix. Lady Elana, his faithful bride ever-present at his side.
[Timeline, Ivastaen, month five of 5099] <17 full members, 5 squires>
A sad day for Onoir. Lord paladin Aonghus dies in his sleep. Lady Elana begins a downward spiral of despair, ending in her leaving herself in another two months. In despair, Lord Durpin leaves Onoir, and is never seen again after the service held by Lord Drandar in Aonghus memory. Aonghus' daughter Lady Tanri passed along his sword "Baby" shortly thereafter. (Roelaren: His sword is passed still today to each LP for them to carry during their time as LP)
Here are words spoken about him at his funeral May 20, 5099
Drandar asks, "Do we deserve to enter God's sanctuary? Can we merit the place and presence of the arkati?"
Drandar says, "live with integrity, do what is right, speak the truth without deceit.."
Drandar says, "have no slander on your tongue, do no evil to others, do not mistreat your neighbor..."
Drandar says, "spurn a contemptible person, but honor those who rever honor"
Drandar says, "never retract a promise once made, though it may bring you harm"
Drandar says, "lend no money at unfair rates... accept no bribe against the innocent"
Drandar says, "make these deeds your own, then shall you stand firm forever."
Drandar says, "these are the principles i was tought by my friend and brother, Aonghus."
Brianus says, "I'd impart some of what I knew an' seen, dat ye may know more of dat man...."
Brianus says, "I seen m'Lord Aonghus call out on Voln's thoughts to young wizards of our Order that he might give them wands ta help them on they path, so much steeper it be den another..."
Brianus says, "I seen m'Lord Aonghus drag body after body to safety in an invasion, when he might have garnered great fame an' learnin by swingin away....."
Brianus says, "I seen m'Lord Aonghus give of his own gear to a youngun dat was without family an looked as though he needed a friend."
Brianus says, "I seen m'Lord Aonghus stand toe-to-toe on HearthStone's Porch with three of the eldest cutthroat rogues inna lands, beratin' em fer their wickedness, without a half a thought dat each of em could easily fry him where he stood."
Brianus says, "I seen m'Lord Aonghus railin an' wailin an' mad enuff ta fry an egg on his head when a small band of Luukos' followers entered Voln's monastery an' commenced every evil desecration they could imagine, even tryin ta kill the Grandmaster. And by the sanctity of the place itself Aonghus was barred from doin anythin ta stop em."
Brianus says, "I seen m'Lord Aonghus transformed inta most genteel soul alive at da mere sight of his lovely an' wonnerful m'Lady Elana, ambush healer of Elanith an' glorious helper ta all young folk."
Brianus says, "Never a man took more serious a stand fer duty, fer honor, fer loyalty. He bore nae guile, spoke his mind an' his convictions at all times, with integrity, surety, honesty. He were an' yet be da heart an' soul of House Onoir of da Paladins. By Kai dat legacy shall never be forgot.
Brianus says, "I must close by claimin without shadow of doubt, na more honorable man hath walked these lands den m'Lord Aonghus MacGreghor. May his soul rest well in Ronan's care. May his memory rest safely in ours."
Furrowfoot says, "ah remember hearin tell of him... an when ah finally got to ken him... ah could feel the warrior spirit flowin through him"
Furrowfoot says, "the strength in tha' man... the strength of honour, bravery... "
Furrowfoot says, "and most importantly... that which were most plain... the strength of his heart"
Furrowfoot says, "he took a strugglin fiter under his wing... "
Furrowfoot says, "for some reason... he seemed ta take a likin to me... I only hope he saw a glimmer of the heart that he had within me"
Furrowfoot says, "many moons ago, ah was fortunate enough to inherit tha strappins that had protected him in battle"
Furrowfoot glances at some highly polished ancient dwarven chain mail.
Aurla says, "I was lost when morgie found me and brought me to the paladins. "
Elana just hugged Aurla.
Elana whimpers.
Aurla says, "Aonghus took me in and became a very close friend"
Aurla says, "through all the rough times ive had he stood by me and helped me and guided me
Aurla says, "i own much to him , he was my friend, a father figure when my own was not here, a brother as i needed, teacher and confidant"
Elana says, "He was the keeper of my heart. My inspiration. My strength and will to continue when the hurts of the world threatened to overwhelm my healer's soul."
Elana says, "Twas bad enow the first time he was lost tae us, when he was kidnapped by pirates"
Elana says, "But tae have him waste away like that …"
Arderon recites:
"By my blood and My Honor
I swear to hold to the Codes that meant so much to him
Honor
Duty
Truth
Loyalty
I will endeaver to become someone he would have been proud of. "
Arderon recites:
"Someone Brave enough to stand up for what was right and honorable, no matter the cost.
Someone true to his ideals , his friends and himself. "
Drandar says, "true instruction was on his lips"
Drandar says, "and he did not give voice to injustice"
Brianus mutters indeed.
Drandar says, "he walked with Ronan, in peace and honesty,"
Drandar says, "and he turned many away from sin."
Finally I will close with these words by Lord Aonghus's squire Tebon Hoggweiler. (Roelaren)
Tebon says, "I think we mus carry on..."
Tebon says, "Aonghus woulda wanted us ta carry on, ta carry on honorably"
You smile at Tebon.
Tebon says, "ta carry on fer duty, fer loyalty..."
Tebon says, "but mostly, he would want us ta carry on fer ourselves..."
Thrudh smiles.
Tebon says, "so dat we kin continue ta garner honor, duty, loyalty, all virtues pure"
Tebon says, "an' wit dat...der be but one ting left ta say..."
Tebon gazes up into the heavens.
Tebon says, "Aonghus, I know ye lookin down on us right now..."
Tebon says, "....Ye done good lad, ye done good......."
Tebon sighs.
Tebon bows.
Tebon kneels down.
Goldstr mutters amen.
Goldstr continues to beseech the gods for mercy and guidance.
You say, "And with that, we bid Lord paladin Aonghus a fond farewell. May Ronan always watch over him, and may Voln guide his path."
Elana just hugged Tebon.
(Elana finally does something that she knows would have made Aonghus chuckle and teefs a wound)
Tebon just hugged Elana.
Caranorn nods.
Thrudh nods.
Caranorn smiles.
You say, "I thank each and every one of ye fer comin to honor one whom honor meant so much too."
(Furrowfoot lets loose an echoing howl from the depths of his gut.)
Aurla smiles at Elana.
Tebon smiles.
You bow.

Prize Closet items that have been crafted in the honor of Anoghus (during my time as LP, Roelaren)
siegery miniature pin
Inlaid in the black onyx surface of the large pin is the image of a kilt-clad red-haired warrior, his claidhmore raised to strike a blow. Incised in small script along the pin's lower edge are the words, "House Daingneach Onoir".
a rubbed pewter kilt pin (This is a interpretation of the MacGreghor clan badge)
The clan badge features a teeth-baring lion head, the figure crowned in gold. A buckled belt surrounds the beast, a bladed claidhmore fastened securely about the etched border. A small engraving edges along the blade of the weapon. There appears to be something written on it.
