Drung Farhorizen
Lord Drung Farhorizen
Taken from a presentation by Sir Balantine Farhorizen in honor of Drung to the Silver Gryphons
Drung was a mighty warrior. Being a Giantman, he was immensely strong even as a child. In a conflict, he favored the largest and heaviest weapon handy, which was typically a two-handed blade, and he was oft found in the midst of trouble. Which meant he was also oft seen in the Square or at the Voln Courtyard seeking healing from the empaths.
This is how he got to know my wife Raindove, and so drew my attention as well. I would offer my blade to assist on some of his hunts, and he impressed me with his aggression and strength. I was able to guide him a little in control and technique. He also desired to learn more of the Code of Chivalry, and so Raindove and I adopted Drung into the Farhorizon clan as our son.
The progression of his skill increased greatly, and soon as a Voln Master, and Warrior Guild Master-At-Arms, he was challenging e'en my ability, though I nae was able to completely tame that aggression and desire for battle. I introduced him to Sir Goldstr, hoping that a master squireship in House Daingneach Onoir would continue to guide his training and keep him on the path to Chivalry. Drung honored our family name, living up to the Code and surpassing all my expectations.
As Drung approached maturity, Sir Goldstr and I introduced him to Sir Cryheart and the knightly Order of the Silver Gryphons. He soon began a squireship, later earning the bracer and full membership.
Sir Cryheart is an excellent bladesmith, and bequeathed a greatsword he had forged to Drung. Drung was so honored, he named the gift after the giver, and now the blade Cryheart is displayed promintently on the mantel of the Gryphon holding.
There is much more that could be said about Drung and his family, and many more tales that could be told about his deeds. But in the interest of time let me simply say, though he nae received spurs of his own, he wore the bracer proudly and lived up to the Code as ably as any knight of the Order, serving in word and in deed those of Wehnimer's Landing.
