Rogannie Peak
Lady Rogannie Peak
Hello, I am Lady Rogannie Peak. I was born on a turnip farm back on the 24th day of Imaerasta, in the year 5068. Which makes me a nearly senescent 53 years old as of today. I am a human, who became sick and tired of turnips. Why you ask? Allow me to explain it, on the farm it was plant turnips, water turnips, weed turnips, harvest turnips, and then the pleasure of eating, raw turnips, fried turnips, baked turnips, boiled turnips, pickled turnips, roasted turnips, mashed turnips, turnips greens, and grilled turnips. Year after year, this was my life. I knew there was a better life out there, I just had to get off the turnip farm and find it. Which being the eldest was a task in itself. Parents refused to allow me to go seek out my future, saying they needed my help on the farm. So, life on the farm continued on for me.
I’ll never forget Tilamaires, the 1st day of Koaratos, in the year 5097. I was out weeding the turnips in the back field when the neighborhood Lad Charwizii came along, and stopped for a chat, and helped me with my chore of weeding the plants. I had a feeling he had a major crush on me, but I didn’t pay him much attention, with him being a dark Elf, with a weird since of humor, and let’s face it, he wasn’t all that and I wasn’t attracted to him, although I considered him a friend, he did help me weed.
Anyways, he was complaining about his parents and I was complaining about turnips and my parents not letting me leave the farm, and he said he could help fix all my problems. All I had to do was trust him.
Okay that’s huge for me, I don’t trust easily. You see, a wise person once told me, "It takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it." So, I went out on the ledge with him, hoping he wasn’t going to ask me to marry him, and asked him how he planned to help me. He said that he just about had this magical spell under control, and it would teleport both of us out of here, and far away together. He was so excited, because he wanted to leave his farm to practice magic, and I just wanted to be free of turnips.
So, I agreed to this adventure, what did I have to lose after all? He ran off to fetch his herbs and trinkets, and when he returned, he started excitedly chanting a few strange words, I figured it was his native tongue Dark Elf, he then rubbed this amulet, and a wolf appeared, he focused for a brief moment, and the wolf padded off. Neat trick I thought, but then a portal appeared and he drug me through it. It was the strangest feeling ever, felt like I was morphing and body parts entangling amongst themselves, and then an explosion and I felt myself sailing into the air, and when I landed, I was slammed into the side of this well. The air was knocked from my lungs, and I lay there stunned.
Once I had gained my bearings, I looked around for Charwizii. He was nowhere to be found. I wondered what happened to him, and later I found out he landing in a treehouse in Wehnimer's Landing, but that didn’t help my mood back then. You see Charwizii promised me we’d be together, and we weren’t. It was a time of mixed feelings, and additional trust issues, along with excited to be free of turnips, scared not knowing where I was, afraid I lost a friend for good, and curious as to what my future held.
So, I focused upon my basic needs, warmer clothes, a place to rest my boots, food to keep my belly full, and work to make this all happen. So, while sitting near the well, I’d watch folks come and go. Seemed that they came with boxes of all sorts and shaped, and left after these few would unlock them. I did find it a bit strange that after emptying their chests, the containers would be tossed into the well, guess water wasn’t coming out of there to be drank.
After many days of watching, I had a feeling I could do this work of unlocking boxes, so I studied hard with the trainers, and became a locksmith. It earned me a living, was able to keep clothes on my back, food in my tummy, and even was able to stay at the Inn on good days, and was able to get out of the ice-cold weather. Ice Mule Trace had become my new home.
One slow day, I decided to go out pass the south gate, and do some hunting with my band new broadsword, and was doing fairly well, with only a few nicks and bruises. Unfortunately for me though, I ventured too far out, got lost, tried to follow other folks, and found myself face to face with a ghost wolf, and least to say I didn’t fare well, and found myself falling to the ground lifelessly. It was a sad day, I could sense people walking by and walking away from me, but no one stopped to help give me life. I was never so alone, and I wondered if this was how Charwizii felt, was he lost, was he dead? The next thing I knew I woke up on an altar, with Lady Lorminstra telling me it’s all okay, you’ve been blessed with life once more.
So, wondering the halls of the Temple, and speaking to some monks, I felt the yearning and aching in my heart for my own deity. Though who would it be? However, would I be able to pick the right one? There are so many to choose from. One day a monk gave me a white flask, a crystal amulet, along with several maps around the area where I could find deity shrines, and told me I would know which one was right for me. Stepping outside, the weather was much warmer, and again, where am I? Don’t think this is Ice Mule anymore. Opening up one maps, written across the top read Wehnimer's Landing. Okay this was a start.
Using the maps, I visited several shrines, fell asleep at one, and dreamed strange dreams. The dream seemed so real, and felt Charwizii was nearby. It had been years, since I had seen him, but didn’t understand why I had a dream about him and the word life was left for me to remember. I continued traveling around using my maps, and came to a dense area where I was overcome with peace, and saw a deer. Again, my mind went back to Charwizii because he loved deer meat stew. Traveling around some more I came upon another shrine. I felt I was being watched. Seeing no one, I explored the inside, and then it hit me, this shrine would be my deity, Lady Leya. Amazon, who was blinded by evil, who lost her one true love. I was feeling pretty happy now I had a deity, and went off to hunt and to seek out some offerings for her, but what would be the right offering?
While out hunting in that area, I came upon a mangled lifeless body. I about freaked out when a scary ghostly voice asked me to help him. I looked around and found I was alone with a corpse. I told him I had no idea what to do, could he guide me in what needed to be done. He asked me if I happened to have a white flask, and I remember the one the monk gave me, and brought it ouf of my cloak. So following his directions, I pour some into his mouth, and was amazed by the bright light that glowed around him. Okay, that just happened. Next I was instructed to grab his lifeless body and drag him to the mine, where empaths and clerics would be found. Um…. Touch a dead body, ewww!
Taking a deep breath, I thanked Leya I for my gloves, and reached down and picked up the lifeless body, and began to drag him to the mine. I announced once there that I had found this dead body who needed help. They asked if he was life kept, and I shrugged not knowing the term, and the ghost said yes she did. Pondering about this, I decided the white flask pouring into him must be life keeping. I watched in amazement as the empaths healed him into a whole, perfect body, and the the clerics chanting and praying, and a bolt from heavens came down and the ghost turned into a living breathing being once more. I was totally amazed by what I had witnessed.
This fellow and I became good friends, and would hunt inside the mine for hours at a time, and rest outside. One day while I was hunting alone inside, I came upon this fellow trying to skin the critters, and was having a hard time of it. I asked him if he like help, and he said sure that be great. We huted, he kills them, I’d skin and once he collected the skins, would run off to cash them in. His name was Manny. I had told my friend about my adventure with Manny, and found out he was the Leader of Twilight Hall. I was so blown away, a leader of a great house, would be so down to earth, and hunt with me. I knew I had to join this house, not sure how, but join I would.
One night while unloading my loot, a crier came running by yelling open house at Twilight Hall, and the search began, I had to find this house. Had to! Running all over town, I stumbled upon it, and took the house tour. I was so ready to join but my hoped and dreams were shot down, I had to be able to cast a spell, are they serious? Spinning around to leave, being broken hearted, I bumped into, and came face to face with Charwizii. Years had come and gone, and here he was standing in front of me. My lost friend, was found. I was thrilled.
We spent a lot of time catching up, and in my heart nagged joining this house of Twilight Hall, the house in which Charwizii belonged. I wanted it so badly, that it hurt. It was then, I ignored my trainer, and went rogue and learned a spell, Silvers, and I was so proud of my achievement, even if my lockpicking took a hit with my doing so, I now had what I needed to join this house. I did too.
As the years passed on by, my younger sister Cosannie talked me into joining the black wolves. Lord Primum would compete with me picking boxes, and we had a lot of fun. He adopted me into the family since my parents by now would of disowned me.
I was spending a lot of time bouncing between Twilight Hall and the black wolves hanging out of the rooftop picking boxes. It came to pass I had ventured out and explored the new elven nations. I was a rock star out there, a goddess of lockpicking in Ta’valor. I soon became Ambassador for Twilight Hall out there in the nations, and did this for many years. Lord Frezze and I had grown close through the black wolves, and being a warrior, he knew no spells, but followed in my boot prints and off trained a spell, so he could join Twilight and was Co Ambassador with me during my reign. When Agaric stepped down from Leader, I stepped down soon after, I failed to agree with the new leadership. Though I do remember running back and forth from nations dodging Troll kings on the mountain pass going to and from the landing. Frezze and I were wed.
The rift between Naugal and Primum split the wolves, Naugal went out and with my younger sisters help started the group Ord and Dragon. I joined as well to help my sister with locksmith duties. I followed her over after she left the Ord and Dragon group, and again became a part of the group Onoir when she took leadership there. I would do anything I can to help family. I am a guild master of the Rogue guild.
Throughout the years, I have adopted several children, but they have all but one has been lost over the years. My daughter Ymeia Peak, is the only living child I have left. I am proud of who she has grown up to become.
