Sadiyah
I am Sadiyah from a land and time far from here, i was born in Bre'Naere. I was raised by my father since my mother died when i was born. Being held in captivity by the Over-Seers she didn't get the care she needed and was very weak and over worked when she labored to have me. She died soon after my birth, I wish i could just remember her face.
I was raised by my father and he kept me by his side my whole life. Since the women usually worked in easier jobs, I had to work harder than alot of them. My father kept my clothes plain and my hair short andmade sure I didn't talk unless spoken to. I worked just as hard as the other men and boys on my crew so the owners never complained. The no talking didn't kill me since I didn't have much to say to the owners and i could talk during meals.
Rumor reached the crew one morn about a portal of some kind that was open and was taking us aelotoi to safety. Quickly our crew started discussing a quick escape. We had to figure out how to untie us, we were all collared and chained so that we couldn't fly away. See in our land our wings helped us stay in the air, so we were helpful to the miners.
Well my father and his friends fashioned something that would break the chains, and one evening they worked through the night to free us all. This task took longer than expected and we didn't start moving away from the camp till early morn before the owners work. As we ran we heard the owners wake behind us, my father and his friends told us young to stay ahead and dont look back, to run for where we were going and not look back.I remember the ownders reaching us and grabbing some of the fathers, but the rest of us just kept running. I felt one behind me and started to flap, i flew up and many of the other young followed me. For the first time we flew with no chains, it was liberating. I yelled for everyone to keep going and we flew into the portal minutes later. As we landed and took count we realized only the young made it. I heard my fathers voice before hitting the voice, and that was all i remember, i couldn't even make out what he said.
Next thing i knew we were being escorted away by solders here in the Nations. And we were separated into groups and spread out through the lands, speaking no common I arrived in landing days later. We thought we were going to work again but the man who escorted us to landing helped us off with our collars and told us where would find some work.I had had the collar since birth so it left a scar, but that isn't so bad. And that is where I began my life in landing. You will have to stand up first or crawl there. That journey is another story.
By my hand and the help of some friends,
Sadiyah
