Thrudh

Lord Thrudh
Growing up in a barbarian tribe, Thrudh was well known for his strength... and his affinity to cause accidents. Ever eager to try to win approval, he would often leap headlong into a task, only to have his poor judgement create messes that even the most patient of elders were unable to overlook. And thus it was not long before Thrudh wore out his welcome. Times are harsh in nomadic life, and loosing a horse herd was one accident too many. Thrudh was banished from the tribe, both as a punishment for his error and in the interest of preventing further mishaps from damaging the welfare of his people.

He managed his way westward over the course of 2 years, relying on his hunting and foraging to keep from starving to death. Being unfamiliar with people not of his tribe, Thrudh was very cautious about approaching the few hunters and woodsmen that he did see along his journey. Finally, Thrudh was encountered by a friendly trapper that, in return for Thrudh's aid in packing furs, brought Thrudh to the Landing.

Shortly after his arrival, Thrudh had an encounter while resting on the shores of Lake Eonak. A vision led him to a weathered greataxe that had been left in a collapsed homestead... and the greataxe spoke to Thrudh. While the initial meeting was a bit rough (Thrudh wouldn't come within 10 feet of the axe), Dogor finally convinced Thrudh that he was a friend. And Dogor, the axe, quickly became the truest friend that Thrudh had ever known. The two were inseparable, growing in friendship through the battles that Thrudh fought and in the guidance that Dogor gave, teaching Thrudh of the ways of honorable warriors.

Zyanna, a human warrioress, saw this rugged barbarian and was determined to make him hers. Thrudh, on the other hand, didn't understand the emotions and feelings she evoked in him and tried to flee the determined warrioress. But... "Thrudh Jus' Too Lot Slow. Oop!" It was not long before he was a willing captive to Zyanna, and the two were married.

Since then, Thrudh has had many adventures with his friend and mentor, Ruffelin, and Zyanna. He has greatly grown in his faith to Eonak and Kai, primarily due to several encounters with his "God Friends" as he aided Dogor in Dogor's two quests. (During which Dogor was transformed into a sledgehammer, and Thrudh's and Dogor's souls were eternally melded by Eonak's hand ... but those are other tales.)

The hulking barbarian was honored by being invited by Lord Aonghus to become a member of the Silver Gryphons the day after he became "Lord" Thrudh. When Aonghus was lost at sea, Lord Waldo2 took Thrudh as his apprentice and saw him through to his initiation. Thrudh is an active member of the Gryphons, and has built many strong friendships with other warriors in the Order.

Thrudh is an outgoing and friendly barbarian, though he often runs into troubles due to communication limitations. While he is a good and faithful friend, his gentle demeanor can be misleading. He is a fierce opponent to those who would harm the Landing, and will savagely respond to any threat to his friends and family.

A quote from Lord Thrudh...

"DOGOR CRUSH!"

An often heard phrase from Lord Thrudh...
