Goldstr Aimright Memorial 5125

Scribed by Elaerina

Hail tae ye all.

This be the hugely edited log o' Sir Goldstr Aimright's memorial service.  I've tried tae include everyone who was there, and tae focus on words spoken in Goldstr's honor, rather that everything that was said that night.  So, my apologies if ye be nae in this edited accounting.  IF ye were there and want tae be added tae the list, please jest let me know.

We began our night in House Daingneach Onoir's Brother Sartarius Chapel, then moved tae Kai's Shrine near the Landing, and then finally tae the Gryphon Holding where we fished, set off fireworks and watched the stars (the latter provided an amazing show in Goldstr's honor).  Friends old and new were there, and I do believe Goldstr would hae been humbled tae know how loved and honored he was.

Rest In Peace me old friend.

In honor and song,

Elaerina Cragsinger

[Onoir, Brother Sartarius Chapel]
Moonlight streams in through the clear crystal ceiling, casting long shadows across the rosewood floor towards the pulpit centered at the front of the room, the platform set before several pews.  Silver sconces frame tapestries across the chapel walls, the light sparkling across them like stars in the evening sky.  Soft murmurs of prayer and singing echo throughout the chamber, the sounds reverberating against a rosewood table by the onyx staircase, the table half-cast in shadow.  You also see a pint of Onoir black and red bourbon and some snow white silk pillows.

Tebon recites:

"Fer those that were nae a part of tha larger group, please join Sir Guarrin"

Bjornsong places his bagpipes beneath his arm, breathes deeply, and launches into a joyful reel.

Roelaren recites:

"There are black armbands in the knapsack,  if ye want one"

The lion-adorned black silk armbands were widely distributed.

Guarrin says, "Everyone, again our thanks for joining us tonight."

Guarrin clears his throat.

Guarrin says, "We have come to honor Sir Goldstr, and, we are here in Onoir's chapel as the fortress was one of his most favored places."

Bjornsong shapes the power of the bagpipes into a slow, steady call to attention.

Guarrin says, "To begin tonight. Elaerina and Bjornsong have prepared a song, I believe, in Sir Goldstr's honor."

With skilled fingers Bjornsong brings the sound of the bagpipes up, then down again, in a slow, steady cry.

Elaerina nods at Guarrin.

Guarrin says, "If you could please give them your attention."

Elaerina recites:

    "Hail tae ye all."

Elaerina recites:

"I be Elaerina Cragsinger, Lady Guardian o' The Order o' the Silver Fist - the military order dedicated tae M'Lord Kai in House Daingneach Onoir."

Bjornsong strides over to stand before you.

Elaerina recites:

"Sir Goldstr Aimright held the rank o' Guardian o' the Talismans in our Order, its highest rank and one that requires nae only physical prowess but also a deep understanding o' Kai's talismans. In me opinion, no one has e'er better exemplified the best o' Kai's teachings."

Bjornsong begins the gradual climb to the echoing heights of the bagpipes' range.

With a final breath, Bjornsong removes the reed of the bagpipes from his lips, allowing the last notes to slow to silence.

Elaerina recites:

"Goldstr were also one o' me oldest and most treasured friends in the Lands. It be me deep honor tae be asked tae take part in his remembrance."

(Elaerina exhales shakily.)

Elaerina recites:

"I will sing a song fer him that be traditionally sung in me homelands tae honor a fallen warrior. While the words be regularly changed tae honor each warrior, it allus hae the same tune and be accompanied by the pipes. Bard Bjornsong hae volunteered tae accompany me."

Elaerina nods at Bjornsong.

Bjornsong picks up his bagpipes and plays the first notes of an inspiring melody.

Elaerina sings:

"As eagles soar the mountain peaks
Where dark pines reach the sky
A young lad strains his shaking arms
     Raising his weapon high"

Elaerina sings:

"In distant lands he hae been told
     An enemy doth rise
And tho it will mean leaving home
     He trains with gleaming eyes"

Elaerina sings:

"As eagles soar the mountain peaks
Where dark pines reach the sky
His arms grow strong, his honor true
     The lad first wrestles Kai"

Bjornsong runs his fingers over the bagpipes, skirling a series of lower notes around the high, prayerful melody.

Elaerina sings:

"Then travels tae them distant lands
     His deeds there legends made
     Battles won and evil conquered
     By his well-honed blade"

Bjornsong brings forth the power and inspiration of the bagpipes, chords echoing through the air.

Elaerina sings:

"As eagles soar the mountain peaks
Where dark pines reach the sky
Bards all sing o' his great deeds
     The warrior's smile is wry"

Bjornsong brings forth the power and inspiration of the bagpipes, chords coming together to form an aural portrait of martial intensity.

Elaerina sings:

"For he knows that his greatest deeds
Are ones nae told in song
     Youngsters helped and honor taught
     Friendships old and strong"

Elaerina sings:

"As eagles soar the mountain peaks
Where dark pines reach the sky
He smiles and helps another lad
     Raise shaking sword up high"

Bjornsong leads the bagpipes to a lower and softer wave of sound, breathing out a highland heartbeat.

Elaerina sings:

"And finally his steps lead home
Ah time it flies so fast!
He lays his head on aching arms
Yes, he can rest at last"

Using arm, breath and bagpipes in concert, Bjornsong brings together the threads of music to weave a tapestry of quiet mornings, rolling fog and piping sound.

Elaerina sings:

"As eagles soar the mountain pass
Where dark pines reach the sky
He gently smiles and sheathes his sword
And walks off with Lord Kai"

Bjornsong allows the last chords from the bagpipes to fade to silence.

Elaerina smiles and nods at Bjornsong

You recite:

    "Thankee"

Guarrin says, "I believe there is another performance to follow as well."

Tebon recites:

    "Honored friends, ifin I may"

Tebon recites:

"First, I wish ta thank Lady Paladin Roelaren and Daingneach Onoir fer allowin' this time here in tha Chapel"

Tebon bows to Roelaren.

Tebon recites:

    "Honor, ta Onoir"

Roelaren says, "My honor."

Tebon recites:

"I thank ye's all for yer time, in Honoring his life"

Tebon recites:

"He was literally my oldest friend here in all of Elanith"

Tebon recites:

"I'm so vera moved by all tha people, all tha kind werds, Goldstr was a friend ta all"

Tebon recites:

"I do believe Sir Balantine, 'as a presentation now fer our dear friend"

Tebon says, "Sir Balantine, please."

Balantine recites quietly:

"I hae two poems, an old one which I'll tell here, and a new one I'll recite at Kai's shrine"

Balantine recites quietly:

    "Honor Never Fades"

Balantine recites quietly:

    "One here is missing now
a place is absent in our ranks today
One of us has fallen, and in peace near a marker lay
     The bold deeds still remembered
Whom stood 'tween us and harm
The truth and courage not forgot
      love and kindness still warm"

Balantine recites quietly:

    "Memories echo these hallowed halls
      A leader's name a plaque doth bear
One who stood for good and right
We who remain still shed a tear
     What is done is done
Our time together was too brief
But the life now gone is nae lost
A hero's life bears no grief"

Balantine recites quietly:

"For as long as we recall
      Glory's many splendored shades
Know as certain as the sun
      Honor Never Fades"

Balantine quietly says, "Thank ye."

Tebon recites:

"Again, thank ye's all fer comin' an' joinin' us tanight"

Tebon recites:

"Now, wit tha indulgence of tha Order of tha Silver Gryphons, Sir Goldstr's other group he loved so dearly, an' wit Sir Guarrin leadin...."

Tebon recites:

"We shall journey ta Kai's Shrine"

Tebon turns to face Guarrin.

Speaking to Guarrin, Tebon says, "Sir Guarrin."

Tebon bows to Guarrin.

Guarrin says, "Thank you Sir Tebon."

You say, "And fer Goldstr's Order O' the Silver Fist."

Tebon smiles at you.

Tebon says, "Aye, an' fer tha Silver Fist."

Guarrin says, "Let's depart for Kai's shrine then."

[Shrine of Heroes]
Snow white vultite walls tower high overhead in this eight-sided room, their enormous size dwarfing only slightly the magnificent granite statue that stands in the center of the structure.  Softly colored light filters in from huge stained glass windows set into each wall, creating a kaleidoscope of color dancing across the rich grey slate floors.

Guarrin says, "Thank you all again for joining us tonight. I am certain that Goldstr would have appreciated such a gathering, although, perhaps not for him, as that was not his way."

Guarrin says, "I thought we would gather here, under the stars, in one of Sir Goldstr s other favorite places and share some fond memories of friend and comrade. As Elaerina mentioned, he certainly exemplified the talismans outside."

Guarrin says, "While I am certain many here are aware that Sir Goldstr was devoted to Kai, I m unsure how widely it was known that Sir Goldstr carried the tear of Kai. This is an item that was obtained here by Sir Morgiest, and as its other holder for a time, I thought I would share a bit about it, and how it found its way to the proper hands of Sir Goldstr."

Guarrin folds his hands behind his back.

Guarrin says, "Sir Morgiest, over twenty years ago now, was in this very spot and experiencing a moment of trouble, doubt, and difficulty. So he prayed to Kai. He was struggling at the time, with several challenges that, at this point, I will not elaborate on, but in particular with the difficulties and challenges he saw others experiencing."

Guarrin says, "As he knelt in prayer, this very statue slowly turned to watch and, for a time, to listen."

Guarrin says, "When his prayers and discussion were completed, Sir Morgiest felt his conviction renewed. His purpose was reinvigorated. The statue then shed a single, granite tear. A reminder of the words he spoke and the prayers he made that evening. The tear would be a symbol, a reminder for Sir Morgiest."

Guarrin says, "And so, Sir Morgiest carried the granite tear for several years. When he departed the lands for a time, he passed it to me. I then carried it for several years, until I returned to the dragonspine for a time, and returned it to Sir Morgiest. In his wisdom, Sir Morgiest then passed the tear of Kai to Sir Goldstr."

Cryheart nods at Guarrin.

Cryheart gazes heavenward.

Guarrin says, "I would say this was its proper home. While Kai may have been moved to tears by Sir Morgiest, Sir Goldstr would serve as the embodiment of his Talismans."

Cryheart agrees with Guarrin.

Mourdeyan smiles at Guarrin.

Guarrin says, "Sir Goldstr carried it for the next fifteen years. We would discuss it from time to time. It was his prized possession, aside from his favorite falchion, and he was proud to carry this artifact, not only because of the connection to Sir Morgiest, but because it served as a reminder of this shrine and the Talismans."

Guarrin says, "Although he truly loved that falchion."

Guarrin says, "When I think of Goldstr, I think of the tear and the Talismans he exemplified. I was honored to have fought alongside him, and call him friend for so many years."

Guarrin lays his open palm across the arching symbol of two knotwork grizzly bears on his vultite brooch, his fingers curling around the vultite edges, and bows his head in a momentary display of respect.

Cryheart gazes heavenward.

You feel a subdued warmth through your arms and torso, accompanied by a preponderant sense of engagement.
Your spirit is empowered with an overwhelming sense of determination and resolve.
Distant sounds of fifes and drums resound in the back of your mind, spurring you into a delirium of confidence and resolve -- as if compelled by some irresistible divine exhortation.

Guarrin says, "Now, please, those who wish to step forward and share a tale, a story, are welcome to do so."

Tebon raises his hand.

Tebon says, "I have a tale I'd like ta share, of good Goldstr."

Guarrin removes a silvery red clenched fist candle from in a large oilcloth sack.

Tebon says, "From days gone by."

Guarrin carefully places his clenched fist candle on the ground.

Guarrin lights the clenched fist candle, which flickers and begins to burn.

Guarrin nods encouragingly at Tebon.

Tebon says, "Meny of ye's know me, an' have fer a long time, I was Lord Paladin of Onoir an' 'ad tha pleasure of inducting Sir Goldstr as a full member, 25 years ago."

Tebon says, "But let's go farther back."

Tebon chuckles.

Tebon says, "When this giantkin was fresh from a turnip farm, making his way in the graveyard."

Tebon says, "Came across a feller there, nice enuff guy."

Tebon says, "Weird name, I thought."

Tebon chuckles.

Mourdeyan begins chuckling at Tebon!

Tebon exclaims, "Welp, he an' I had heard, ifin ye's stood up on tha mound there in tha graveyard there's a chance that one of the elder ghoul masters might show up!"

Tebon says, "We figured, feh!  We kin handle one o' them."

Tebon says, "So, we stood on tha mound, fer hours it seemed."

Tebon says, "Gettin ta know each other, swappin fiter stories, things youngins do."

Tebon says, "Then up outta tha earth popped one of them elders."

Tebon says, "Instinct took o'er, an' we barely survived, but ol' Goldstr an' Tebon, we defeated that elder ghoul master."

Tebon raises his fist defiantly.

Tebon says, "We split tha loot."

Tebon says, "He took the cursed blade, I took tha cursed armor."

Tebon gazes heavenward.

Cryheart grins.

Tebon says, "An' spent tha next thirty minutes beggin fer help ta uncurse it."
]
Balantine appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Elaerina says, "Oh my."

Tebon says, "That's tha Goldstr I recall, he an' I spent meny hours tagether o'er 28 years, he was tha first person I met here in Elanthia, an' I shall miss his joyful spirit."

Tebon says, "Rest in peace, my dear friend."

Mourdeyan agrees with Tebon.

Tebon asks, "Who shall share their memory next?"

Guarrin asks, "Would anyone else care to share a story to remember Sir Goldstr?"

Tebon says, "There's a lot of old souls here."

she raises her glaesine flask high, her eyes warm as she glances about and proclaims:

"To the friends who brought us here, to the ones we're leaving with, and especially to those who are no longer with us, but whose presence we still feel."

A silvery red clenched fist candle glows warmly with a soft, flickering light.

Bristenn raises his hand.

Bristenn carefully begins, "Sir Tebon mentioned about twenty-five years ago."

The red candle burns warmly, lending a soft light to the surroundings.

Guarrin nods encouragingly at Bristenn.

Bristenn explains, "It had to be about then when I first met him- and the story about that is a pretty simple one.  I was very young."

Bristenn adds, "He was always kind and patient, especially given I was a teenage boy at the time, and you understand how teenage boys can be."

Tebon begins chuckling at Bristenn!

Bristenn inclines his head.

Speaking to Bristenn, Tebon says, "An' sum of us vividly recall yer teenage angst."

Tebon grins at Bristenn.

Bristenn chuckles to himself.

Bristenn assures, "I still have some."

Tebon chuckles to himself.

Bristenn explains, "But through it all, and through every decade of adventuring, there was Goldstr.  As Nairidin said, sincere.  Kind, and patient, and generous with the most precious thing of all- his time."

Roelaren says, "When i joined onoir in 5111 I had not been in the lands for a long time. Goldstr treated me like i had been family for ever, and was always saying hi when i was in the lands. To him I was family from the start."

Falicor says, "It is odd, Goldstr was such a fixture you almost expect him to show up even now."

A bit of melted wax drips from a black-swirled red candle inset with a plumed armet crest with a hiss.  The flame jumps, burning high for a moment, then settles into a warm glow.

The glow from a silvery red clenched fist candle softly illuminates the shadows.

Kothos quietly says, "I remember him leaving every Gryphon meeting with a smile on his face, because he was on his way to Helga's."

Kothos says, "To get his bowl of stew for dinner."

Speaking sadly to Oflite, Khobra expresses, "Thiz person meant alot to the entire vhole of vhom he touched.. it zaddenz me I am only learning of thiz perzon thiz evening, but bringz joy to the remembrance of He."

Mourdeyan agrees with Kothos.

You say, "Goldstr had the most amazing sentient potato ever."

Tebon says, "Oh gads, tha drink...."

Khazaann says, "I remember when he and I broke the mold for gryphon squires when he took Roelaren and I took Elbromo as squires breaking the fighter only barrier."

Balantine recites quietly:

"Lord Goldstr and I basically grew up together"

Balantine recites quietly:

"We both lived and breathed the Code, long before we were knighted"

Balantine recites quietly:

"We spent hours and hours freeing the cursed and seeing the monks"

Balantine recites quietly:

"And when it came to be knighted, we got our spurs nearly at the same time"

Balantine recites quietly:

"And so I wrote this brief poem to share"

Balantine recites quietly:

    "A Good Knight"

Balantine recites quietly:

"We come to honor one not here
     Who's to the sunset rode
A knight who lived up the Code
Lord Kai doth shed a tear"

Balantine recites quietly:

"Sir Goldstr Aimright was my friend
      He's passed through Ebon's Gate
      Lady Winter reveals your fate
      Returning in the end"

Balantine recites quietly:

"We wait for you until that day
      Continuing on your fight
Your dauntless courage and your might
      Lead us on The Way"

Balantine recites quietly:

"To Lord Voln we often pray
Your steps serve as our guide
The cursed we free that in shadows hide
       Bringing favor to this day"

Balantine recites quietly:

"Then in a garden we repose
      And cast a fishing line
      Enjoy the peace so sublime
And stop to smell a rose"

Balantine recites quietly:

"Or in the pub we raise a glass
We tell of your great fame
And toss a dart unto your name
      But none your skill surpass"

Balantine recites quietly:

"And now we weep and give a sigh
And mourn you so it seems
For now you'll walk in Ronan's dreams
And laugh with your Lord Kai"

Balantine recites quietly:

    "Fare Well my friend"

Olgretien recites deeply:

"I can tell you all the there's a good chance The Northern Fury wouldn't have survived without Goldstr's help.
There are a few here tenight that leant their aid as well and continue to do so.
He was one of the first to volunteer his aid and I will be forever grateful.

      Rest well Sire, friend Goldstr."

Guarrin says, "With that, I believe, we will move to the Holding."

Guarrin says, "To honor our comrade in a way he would have certainly appreciated."

Guarrin says, "Fishing and stargazing."

Guarrin says, "Please be joined."

The tales and remembrances continued as we moved to the Gryphon Holding

Tebon says, "I'll share anuther good memory o' our friend."

Dwi recites quietly:

"Der's a new star in da sky.
Seen out da corner me eye.
     When I look'd agin...
     I saw me ol' fren...
     Patrollin' da trails, on high."

Tebon says, "Sir Goldstr, 'ad meny things we kin remember him by."

Tebon says, "He was passionate, dedicated, an' he loved tha Gryphons an' Onoir."

Tebon says, "Onoir 'as a tradition fer Squires....."

Tebon says, "Way back in tha day, afore Onoir got tha keep built, we woul' meet typically at tha Wayside Inn."

Tebon says, "An' it was a Squries duty ta feed e'eryone, an' keep us hydrated."

Tebon says, "Goldstr, as a Squire ta Onoir, always brought a backpack FULL o' food an' drink."

Tebon says, "An' after he spent five minutes emptyin' said backpack o' goodies, he woul' guzzle a stout an' take a shot o' whiskey."

Speaking to Tebon, Falicor says, "I think he always had a pack full of those though, even well after beign a squire."

Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "I'm grateful that he reached out to speak on matters when things were intense.  Really kind person.  So err...I'll try to catch one fish in his honor."

Tebon says, "'E'ery time."

Tebon laughs!

Tebon nods at Falicor.

Tebon says, "I think so as well."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "I think legit, he's one of the few players that were around when i came back in 2013 that was still around, i think he was one of the first ones i ran into when i blundered into an invasion when i brought hapenlok over from the Rest."

Cryheart yells, "Lo brother Golstr, as your spirit wanders beyond the gates, may your spirit continue to fight the good fight!"

Cryheart points up.

Roelaren raises her Onoir lager in a toast!

Tebon gazes up into the heavens.

Cryheart gazes up into the heavens.

A series of shooting stars continues to streak across the sky.

Mourdeyan says, "He was so tickled that his friend named him thus."

(Hapenlok does a Warrior Style salute to the heavens, fist held up against his chest.)

Roelaren says, "The lager and the bourbon on the table in the chapel  was from Goldstr  he had Squirred away a glass of each in his locker  and brought it out so we could have it agin."

Amid the streaking stars, a single, golden body in the heavens glows a little brighter before fading back into the myriad constellations alongside it.

Hapenlok says, "I'm trying to remember the first time I ran into Goldstr when i came back here 12 years ago from the Rest."

Lylia says, "I cannot remember the first time I met him for it feels he has simply...always been here."

The deep blue phoenix lightly plays with a tendril of itself, pushing the tiny corkscrew spiral of pale sapphire through the air with a nudge of its flaming wings.

Speaking to Hapenlok, Alayis says, "I left once, and came back a few years later and he saw me in passing. He pointed and said I know you! and gave me a huge hug."

Hapenlok says, "It was fun. He's one of the few people that this contrary angry wizard that i could never get mad at for long."

Puptilian says, "I remember him as a part of the knights.  I know I met him through Cryheart."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Alayis exclaims, "He always remembered me!"

(OOC) Anstara's player whispers to the group, "I can't say I knew him personally, but I did know he was a great guy that everyone loved."

Roelaren whispers to the group, "Yes thank ye all for coming to honor Goldstr  he will be remembered and loved always."

Guarrin says, "I believe I ran into Goldstr first during that entire incident with the feithidmor."

Speaking to Cryheart, Guarrin says, "We were mostly dodging the banaltra as best we could."

Guarrin chuckles to himself.

Cryheart agrees with Guarrin.

Cryheart chuckles.

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "He would have been out of here in about ten minutes! but so very honored to see us all together for every one of them, thank you all."

(OOC) Yukito's player whispers to the group, "Yeah. I think I'll remember him whenever I see this constellation. That's good. A lovely memorial."

Leafiara says, "I... probably just met him some time defending the town from attack, but I don't recall. Anyone can fight with enough training, though. What made much more of an impression were his observations and considerations of the many challenges anyone faced."

Leafiara says, "Well, that and demonstrating the difference between dart novices and dart experts."

Leafiara chuckles.

Guarrin nods in agreement at Leafiara.

Geijon says, "He was really a hunker down and move forward. He liked to be alone too to test himself it seemed."

Roelaren whispers to the group, "Thank ye all for your remembrances and words."

Mauss says, "I'll remember the little things more, I think."

Speaking to Leafiara, Perigourd says, "He was definitely a master of them. I thought I was pretty decent till the one game I had a chance to play with him."

We arrived at the Gryphon Holding where the fishing was incredible and the fireworks amazing.  The tales continued unabated.

[Gryphon Holding]
Eight apple trees stand here in two rows of four, competing with the heather and gorse that cover the gentle southern slope of the hillock.  Next to the orchard, a sturdy dock extends onto a tranquil pond, with a hammered silver firepit and a basket of kindling sticks nearby.  To the northeast the stone tower surrounded by a moat is plainly visible.

Lylia says, "There were times he could have slaughtered everyone at our games of darts in the Alabaster Spire, yet he stayed his hand selectively so as not to merely show off. He wanted everyone to enjoy the game, not merely to win."

Kothos says, "I remember his stargazing, his bowls of stew, his dedication to keeping the travel routes free of malcontents..."

(OOC) Ifanna's player whispers to the group, "Thank you for hosting this, he was a wonderful person and a warm and gentle presence!"

Tebon says, "I jus' wish I knew ifin he got that last a'ha."

Cryheart says, "He was indeed a master of the darts."

Kothos says, "And him wiping the floor with pretty much everyone at the dartboard."

Mauss says, "I'll remember how Sir Goldstr actually grinned at my dumb fishin' jokes...  well coupla times."

(OOC) Laelithonel's player whispers to the group, "I'm going to step Laeli out. Beautiful gathering and words for someone so clearly loved and honored. Was lovely to have been able to listen to stories. Thank you , those who held him close, for sharing him with everyone."

The deep blue phoenix slowly spreads its wings and hovers lazily in the air, the myriad of sapphire motes drifting along its feathers resembling an unearthly tapestry of the sky.

(OOC) Leifa's player whispers to the group, "For decades, Onoir has been a pillar of lasting friendship and peace, quietly spreading goodwill and unity throughout its tight-knit community. Goldstr exemplified that in spades.  I am the better to have known him, well, we are all the better, really."

Leafiara says, "Oh, just had a thought. We have many, ah powerful individuals here who can take care of themselves in every situation, so some might not know this, but Sir Goldstr was often at bounty help nights to aid with younger adventurers. Unsung hero work there."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "Yeah, OOC and IC, the fact that he dealt with my nonsense without cutting my damn head off IG and out of the game."

(OOC) Lylia's player whispers to the group, "We are. He has always been one of the best of us, an exemplary person. One of those people whom I smiled to see both IC and OOC."

Mauss exclaims, "I'll remember how when I went to the warrior guild to promote new guildmasters, Sir Goldstr very frequently beast me there!"

(OOC) Raelee's player whispers to the group, "I do want to add my deepest condolences to those who knew Goldstr well.  He was a constant presence.  This place won't be the same without him... and this has been a really lovely tribute.  The love was shown by so many tonight."

Geijon says, "I recall more than a few times I was dead in some invasion, early arriving or late in fighting and we were dogged and tired, but he'd come in for me and get my corpse safely somewhere."

Roelaren whispers to the group, "Thank ye Guarrin and the Silver Gryphons for your help in organizing this tribute to Goldstr bless ye."

Leifa says, "So much love to all who have lost someone so very important to them."

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin asks, "Fireworks then?"

Guarrin says, "Let's light the sky up for Sir Goldstr then."

Perigourd says, "There are fireworks in the cornucopia for those who would like to set one off in Goldstr's memory."

Guarrin says, "Thank you, Perigourd, for crafting them all."

We then proceeded to light the skies with innumerable fireworks.

While we were looking up to admire the fireworks we realized that the heavens themselves were lit to honor Goldstr.  The following star show was clearly visible throughout the night:

Glittering points of silvery light erupt in the nighttime sky to form a huge scintillating griffin before slowly winking out.

As the night drew to a close, we saw the star show come to an end:

Golden shooting stars continue to streak across the sky, offering a vivid counterpoint to the falling, lingering sparks.

The shower of stars begins to fade and slow in the sky.  At the last, however, a single, golden star streaks once more across the         horizon, lingering for a moment before fading into the heavens.

Speaking to Kippe, Kothos says, "The golden star shines upon you."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "If anyone deserves a Raveger send-off it's Goldstr."

Guarrin says, "To Goldstr, may we remember him well when we look at the stars."

Tebon says, "Sum on them stars look like spurs."

Speaking to Tebon, Lylia says, "I believe they do, at that."

Kothos says, "It's beautiful.  The summer sky made all the more fantastic, by the memories we have, the honor we share."

Cryheart says, "Amen."

Kothos says, "To our absent friend."

Tebon says, "Fittin'."

(OOC) Holoni's player whispers to the group, "Everytime the ambient messaging keeps going off, get all misty eyed all over again."

Tebon says, "Oh, he woulda hated this meny folks gatherin' fer him, but we all know he appreciates it."

Hapenlok murmurs, "Absent friends."

Khobra warmly concludes, "Good and to the bezt night to you all vhich have gathered here thiz evening, to recall the remembrance of a fallen loved one - a dear friend."

(OOC) Kothos's player whispers to the group, "Totally.  It has me all tearing up and verklempt."

Speaking to Tebon, Falicor says, "He woud have fussed but he would have stayed to the end and had a blast."

Hapenlok says, "And if anyone gets too drunk, i have a gem that can cure that."

(OOC) Kothos's player whispers to the group, "It's such a nice, sweet gesture from the staff."

Tebon says, "An' then complained about it bein' too much."

(OOC) Lylia's player whispers to the group, "Me, too. I appreciate them. But can't stop tearing up."

(OOC) Cryheart's player whispers to the group, "Agree."

Hapenlok says, "So, Goldstr, i do generally remember the first time i encountered him now. It was during that whole time where the shrines were getting desicrated and the Krolvin were raiding."

A somber adventurer stars up at the sky and its myriad constellations, both fixed and temporary.  They are so lost in the moment that they run headlong into a giant apple tree!  Muttering to themselves, they shake their head clear and return to watching the sky.

Cryheart says, "Ahhh..griffin."

Hapenlok says, "And i did wind up in front of some shrine or other beating up Luukosians."

Cryheart yells, "Watch out for the apple trees!"

Evia says, "We've gained an eternal guardian ladies and gents."

Guarrin says, "We should trim the orchard a bit perhaps."

Speaking softly to Guarrin, Kilthal says, "Just do not make the trees angry."

Delindra murmurs, "It would be a shame for someone's walk to be... trunk-ated due to falling fruit."

Speaking warmly to Delindra, Kothos says, "He would have laughed at that."

Delindra states, "He appreciated a good jest."

Speaking to Kilthal, Guarrin says, "Och, never."

Tebon says, "Morg brought him ta tha Gryphons, an he was so excited about that."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "But it occurs to me that it may not have happened on Hapenlok."

Speaking to Cryheart, Tebon asks, "Do ye's remember whom interviewed him prior ta his joinin?"

Cryheart rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Cryheart says, "Nae, I just know Sir Morgiest squired him when I was present."

Cryheart asks, "Ye know Sir Tebon?"

Tebon ponders.

Tebon says, "Brinn talked ta him."

Tebon says, "I do recall that."

Cryheart says, "Ahhh."

Tebon says, "He was sweatin' on that one."

Hapenlok says, "Goldstr was one of the good ones. on both sides of the four walls."

Tebon asks, "Ruff mebbe?"

Sirona quietly says, "I'll try to do the constellations when I am about in the evenings."

Speaking to Tebon, Guarrin says, "That was not uncommon."

Cryheart says, "Heh, Sir Brinn lectured me afore I was squired."

A silvery red clenched fist candle burns with a warm golden light.

Tebon agrees with Guarrin.

Speaking to Deavon, Tebon asks, "Do ye's recall by chance?"

Cryheart says, "Could hae been Sir Ruffelin."

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "Valor."

Deavon says, "Brinn took me on at the same time he was squiring Kinshack, because I was a little firebrand."

A silvery red clenched fist candle flickers a moment and nearly goes out, then its flame springs to life again, burning merrily.

Speaking to Deavon, Tebon says, "My mentor."

Falicor asks, "When did Goldstr get inducted?  24 years ago?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Kothos says, "I do not place blame, rather, amazement."

Speaking to Falicor, Guarrin says, "5102, squired to Sir Morgiest."

Kothos says, "The same night that Geijon was knighted, I believe."

A small draft catches the flame of a silvery red clenched fist candle and it flickers brightly.

Guarrin lays his open palm across the arching symbol of two knotwork grizzly bears on his vultite brooch, his fingers curling around the vultite edges, and bows his head in a momentary display of respect.

Lehon says, "In 5102."

(Mauss tilts his head up to the heavens and solemnly waves.)

Roelaren says, "That was nice."

Bristenn raises his fist overhead in salute.

Clasping his hands before him, Mauss solemnly closes his eyes and bows his head in a sign of the utmost respect.

(Evia holds her fingers up into the sky reaching for the fading twinkles.)

(OOC) Kothos's player whispers to the group, "Aww.  That was such a sweet gesture."

Speaking quietly to Sirona, Balantine says, "He also gave a series o' tours o' the various Arkati shrines, think he liked Leya's shrine only second to Kai's, but he also hae a butterfly wing from Ronan's shrine."

(Luxelle lifts her hand up with a soft wave.)

Sirona quietly says, "I...haven't really been able to speak... but I will miss him terribly and miss seeing him wandering these lands."

Speaking to Kothos, Guarrin says, "Yes, the knighting was Geijon, Shirkon, Balantine and Goldstr, I believe."

Cryheart nods at Sirona.

A silvery red clenched fist candle burns with a warm golden light.

Bristenn adds, "And Dame Evia at the time, as well."

Speaking to Bristenn, Guarrin says, "Ah, yes."

Perigourd nods appreciatively at Tebon.

Geijon says, "Dame Evia was the 5th and Cryheart got recognized."

Speaking to Bristenn, Evia says, "Thank you for recalling."

Mauss says, "I remember takin' Sir Goldstr vampire huntin', for...  reasons.  And thinkin' how cool it was that I could actyally help 'im out with something and repay him a little."

Speaking to Evia, Guarrin says, "Apologies. I only have the records to go from. I was not present for that ceremony."

Speaking to Tebon, Evia says, "Just don't feel like talking brother."

Kothos recites:

"Very few people ever really live
And those that do never die.
No matter if they are gone.
No one you love is ever dead."

Speaking to Evia, Tebon says, "I am vera sad.  But I am rememberin' so meny good times wit him."

Sirona quietly says, "Thank you all. This was a lovely tribute to a Goldstr."

(OOC) Kothos's player whispers to the group, "Hemingway seems appropriate for a man who loved fishing and darts."

(OOC) Alayis's player whispers to the group, "I remember long talks sitting at wayside. So many things that were going to come our way. I remember the talk of building a foretress and where we would put it. i remember sitting in Kai's shrine, reading them over and over until I had a paper written for each one to prove to my mentor Goldstr how great Sadiyah was going to be."

Speaking to Evia, Tebon says, "He an' I did sum real silly things when we were young."

Speaking to Tebon, Deavon says, "You're still young."

Speaking to Deavon, Tebon says, "Nae as young as ye's, m'lady."

Puptilian recites:

"While they are also feared by evil
     When they fall people weep
And the trail is harder to follow
All the rest of us can do
Is pick up where he left off and help others
For the trail is long and dusty
And easy to lose your way"

Elaerina says, "Thank all o' ye fer this wonderful remembrance.  I must be on me way"

And then this bardess forgot she was part of a big group and fogged to Voln....dragging everyone with her.  Sigh

Evia says, "Kinda fitting to be honest."

No idea what happened after that!
