`Guild of the Loom

Day 11 of the month Eoantos in the year 5125

Charter

In the year 5125 after the Ebon Gate had once again closed for the season and
Evermore Hollow had been ‘saved’ from the Weavers of Arachne, the Paladins of Onoir realized the true importance of honing the skills of the crafters of Elanthia.
They humbly accepted that their largesse could be much greater and have a more
profound impact on not only a large part of the community but on Onoir itself. Using
their prowess they decided to create a guild meant to act as the backbone to all current as well as future subgroups of Onoir and further extend the Paladin codes throughout the lands. Honoring the Weavers of Arachne and the townspeople of all Evermore Hollow neighborhoods, The Guild of the Loom was created.

Creed

“The tapestry of life and strings of fate bind us together.”

Purpose

   1.  In the lands of Elanthia -

We will always be open to highly skilled crafters and will guide the young toward the ways of crafting through engaging teachers, projects, classes, gathering sessions and an extensive library of knowledge.

We will demonstrate through our own unselfish acts the honorable ways of the Paladins, showing kindness, patience, and generosity to any in the lands while seeking out creative souls open enough to listen in hopes of bringing them into the Onoir and Guild of the Loom family.

    2.  In House Daingneach Onoir -

It is our responsibility to seek out both new and old crafting implements of all kinds, record the history, cultural background and use of these items to preserve this knowledge for posterity. We will work with the Guild of the Quill to accomplish this goal and create a specific section in the library.

The Guild of the Loom offers crafting support to the Merchant Guild, creating items in response to their needs and requests. Participation by merchant shops is voluntary and collaborative, with the Loom acting in a supporting role. While the Merchant Guild itself should be mindful of anything that sells well and inform the Loom, as veteran crafters we should be able to anticipate common needs and propose projects to the Merchant Guild, while remaining responsive to their direct guidance and feedback.

Should we be able to create or find weapons and armor that’s acceptable to our more militant orders, Azure Hydra and Silver Fist, it is our duty to make certain that these items are either kept for the future or given to the members that would most benefit from using them. Should these items not be usable they should then be kept as prizes, melted down for use in forging, given to worthy youngsters or sold.

Requirements

You do not have to have a specific crafting skillset in order to join, but you must be willing to make an effort to pick at least one skill and demonstrate proficiency in it. This includes foraging and skinning as well as other material gathering. We absolutely welcome bard singing, chrism making from clerics, recharging services from wizards and consider these and more as part of our crafting skillset.

Restrictions

We encourage all members to start the journey on the path to become a Paladin of House Daingneach Onoir but have no rank requirements that you must reach before joining us.

Everyone is welcome regardless of social status, class, deity or culture but please be aware that many gathering areas are dangerous so take your training into account before venturing off alone!

Duties

The Guild of the Loom exists to support, not supplant, the efforts of Onoir’s merchants, guilds, and orders through cooperation, communication, and service.

Members must participate in at least one group activity scheduled by this Guild every month.

  • Activities include hunts, crafting sessions, classes, recharge ‘parties’ and any other planned Loom activity that includes more than three people.

  • If all scheduled activities are unable to be attended due to emergencies, time constraints (or anything ooc related) the member may instead pick two crafting supply projects to complete.

Members must complete at least one crafting supply project to keep the Loom well stocked  every month. Anything created or gathered should be stored for the Loom or passed along to their respective Guilds/Orders for use, sale and distribution.

  • Gather a batch of herbs. (50 total)

  • Gather a batch of gems. (20 gems of a type used for chrisms or crafting/enchanting)

  • Grind herbs and gems needed for enchanting with a mortar and pestle. (10 total)

  • Write a detailed guide on a crafting tool, new or old.

  • Write a basic OOC history of a real crafting tool used in game.

  • Write a detailed guide on any crafting topic (No class services)

  • Create a high quality item for the prize pile or gift pile.

  • Lead a crafting demonstration, lesson or gathering session.

  • Have your profession sing to, charge or create items for Onoir or any one of their subgroups.

  • Cut chrisms with Onoir and subgroup themed patterns. (10 total)

  • This is not an exhaustive list but you may choose anything on this list as a monthly project.  Should you have any other crafting skill or idea not listed here please contact Guild of the Loom leadership for guidance on what we may need. We’re also open to OOC ideas!

All members must follow the Honorable Codes and adhere to the Codes of Conduct found in the House Daingneach Onoir bylaws.

All members must follow the Gemstone IV Simutronics Terms of Service (ToS) and Rules of Conduct.

Reeve

Any and all crafting falls to this group. No rank requirement.

Finances

Any gems, skins, reagents and useful crafting items found on our scheduled Loom hunts will be put aside for crafting purposes instead of sold in the gemshop or at the furrier so that we may more easily supply ourselves without silvers. This will be announced before any of our group hunts. When not needed these items will be sold as per usual.

The Guild of the Loom supplies Onoir subgroups, upon request or agreement, with the materials or items needed to use, sell or distribute thus creating a positive feedback loop of wealth and more evenly distributing the workload for the whole of Onoir.

When appropriate, Loom-crafted items may also be distributed through personal player shops operated in support of Onoir, ensuring flexibility without placing obligations on Merchant Guild storefronts.
